Premium Member Diesel Posted July 13, 2006 Premium Member Report Share Posted July 13, 2006 Quote: The C’s are still very hot on the trail of Allen Iverson, but, according to a source yesterday, the 76ers have some other strong options in the marketplace. The latest court ruling that Atlanta now can acquire and sign players to deals of longer than one year may have opened a key avenue for Philadelphia as far as facilitating a deal. It was also confirmed yesterday that the Celtics already may have been able to do an Iverson deal had they not sent the No. 7 pick in June’s draft to Portland as part of the Sebastian Telfair trade. The Sixers were very high on Villanova guard Randy Foye, who was taken by the Trail Blazers at No. 7. However, Minnesota probably would have plucked Foye at No. 7 if it didn’t have a de Just brainstorming here. Ai to Boston. Wally to Philly. and we pick Scalabrine and Al Jefferson. Then maybe we can send Al and Scalabrine off as part of another trade that maybe gets us an ending contract and a first.
delanceyj
Perkins would have to be involved I think.. Jefferson, while I would love to have him, would just clog our rotation more and take mins from Sheldon, Zaza, and Smoove.. what about Delonte West and Perkins.. I would take that.. BornandDieHawks
AI has to be worth more that just Wally.
Premium Member Diesel Posted July 13, 2006 Author Premium Member Report Share Posted July 13, 2006 Ai to Boston. Wally/Pietrus/ 1st (Bos) to Philly. Al/Scalabrine to GS Murphy to Indy Foster, Indy's 1st, and Jefferson to Atlanta. Rationale: Philly is trying to save money by eliminating their big contract in Ai. Boston gets Ai. Indy gets Murphy. GS gets Al.
Premium Member Diesel Posted July 13, 2006 Author Premium Member Report Share Posted July 13, 2006 Those other guys don't really make enough to justify Boston moving their salaries.
Premium Member Diesel Posted July 13, 2006 Author Premium Member Report Share Posted July 13, 2006 It would definitely take some maneouvering but... Quote: There are reports out of Denver that the Nuggets may have interest in Iverson. In order for the salaries to come within the required 25 percent, the Nuggets could offer a package which would include Andre Miller and either Marcus Camby or Ruben Patterson. If Philly gets Miller/Al and Denver gets Ai/Randolph... Could Atlanta get Camby? That would be SWEET!
FrankSlade7
You can be pretty much bet on,Indy will not trade for any one like Troy Murphy, Dunleavy. Quick, Athletic is the new plan. Plus the only big contracts they are going to take on , will be ones they agree to in a Sign and Trade.

TexasPete
Jefferson will NEVER pan out. He can't even play decent in the summer league. Scalabrine is a top 5 bad contract not for length of contract but because he sucks. If he ever puts on a Hawks uniform I cancel my season tickets on the spot. Why do we want Jefferson and Scalabrine? That trade is a dog with fleas...if we are going to help Boston and Philly lets get some VALUE from this deal. Jefferson literally walks on every possesion...lucky the NBA only calls 25% of them. He is big hat no cattle...even C fans have given up on him. A great body with no basketball player in it.
swolehawk2
I agree...we have enough unknowns right now, young guys that are developing, it is time to make good decisions on some knowns, we are trying to take the next step.

I'm pretty sure that Indy was gung-ho about getting Dunleavy last offseason and last season (during the Artest stuff).
