gsuteke
i wonder why the AJC doesn't carry this stuff/ http://www.ledger-enquirer.com/mld/ledgere...er/15031465.htm
vdunkndunk
That was a great article. I agree...why can't the AJC give us articles like that? Looks like everyone from Shelden to Woodson agrees that Shelden will play mostly PF and a little backup center.
Premium Member Jdawgflow Posted July 14, 2006 Premium Member Report Share Posted July 14, 2006 This was definately a good article. Reading that makes me think BK has to be looking for another center in a SnT for Al. Otherwise, Zaza is going to have to play too many minutes again. Duff_Man
This is an unexpected encouragement... Quote: Williams drew praise from Woodson by hitting a 15-foot jumper when left unguarded, a shot he rarely saw while playing for Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski. Thanks for the article. Nice reading. swolehawk2
I said in a recent post, most will be suprised at how Shelden's mid range jumper progresses...he is more than capable.

Nice reading. you're welcome. the thing is Shelden kept talking up his offense during and immediately after the draft. i think that's the big part of his game that will make the Post-Al trasition a little smoother. swolehawk2
I think this is another reason why this staff did not want Shelden to continue workouts, maybe they feared that if teams found out about his offensive potential, he may not be there at 5. We will see.
DJ_Money
Quote: "Knock his little (butt) down and see if he comes through again!" Woodson said. Damn right. I'm not an advocate of dirty play, but you need that every once in a while.

DrReality
Would love to see him get that 15 footer down pat. That would really help his game and open up under neath the basket.
WraithSentinel
That was a very good article. If we don't get another Center. It look like Smoove,Marvin,Shelden and Zaza will be our main front court players.

I'm really anxious to hear SOMETHING about Andersen's status. That could change what we need.
exodus
Shelden already has the 15 footer down people just haven't seen it yet. In fact I have seen him shoot that shot on a step back move off the dribble and look good doing it.
ATLien_
Quote: Marvin Williams (6-9, 228), who also can play small forward and shooting guard. Anybody else suprised to see Marvin mentioned as a Shooting Guard? Offensivley I think he would be fine, but I really don't think he has the quickness to guard an SG in the NBA. I wonder where this writer picked up this talk? Is it coming from Woody, or is he just pulling this out his ars?

Don't know that we will hear something about Andersen. Did you read the post from the guy in Australia? He basically said that it's questionable whether or not Andersen is an NBA caliber player, and mentioned the other Australian big that didn't cut it, Chris Antsey. Point is whether he comes over or not, he probably won't be a good player. We'll see.

Were I he, I don't know that I'd want to come over here for a few more dollars and be a backup. It's not like the guy is trying to get out of the projects.
