Lascar78
I'm no Olowokandi fan, but out of those I'd still take him. He's a legit 7 footer and would be the best of the bunch if he ever applied himself
KB21
I voted for Kelvin Cato, because I believe he will at least bring some defensive ability to the table. IMO, Michael Olowokandi is a waste of time. Lorenzen Wright would be a close second to Kelvin Cato on my list because of his rebounding.

Premium Member mrhonline Posted July 24, 2006 Author Premium Member Report Share Posted July 24, 2006 I should note that there's also Jake Voskuhl and Aaron Williams out there...
Packfill
Pollard is the only one of the bunch that seems to care when on the floor so he gets my vote, but really none would help the Hawks in any material respect.
clrumph
Damn we're scraping the bottom of the barrel with those guys. Why not just invite invite Kevin Willis back - at least he'll look good in his custom suits sitting on the bench! Hopefully we can find a way to get Mags here instead. I'd rather dig into the barrel than have to give up Childress AND take minutes away from both Shelden and Zaza. Magloire doesn't really fit a up-tempo team. Traceman
Lorenzen is more of a solid you know what you are going to get kind of guy. If we got him, I'd expect him to get about 8/6 off the bench and he is a terrific locker room guy. I agree that Olowokandi has the best skills and he is the only legit 7 footer of the group. That said, he has done NOTHING in the last 3 years and he can't seem to get healthy. I guess it depends on what you are looking for. If you want a "solid" vet, take Lo. If you are willing to gamble that Olowokandi will actually try, go with him. Neither Cato not Pollard do anything for me at more than the vet minimum. DrReality
I think Voshkuhl is a viable option. I read where Dallas is going to invite him to their training camp. That seems pretty odd when they have four centers. I like Lorenzo because he can get up and down the court and brings some fire in the belly. gheorghe
For shotblocking, i would pick Cato, but he is awful in ofense. Scot Pollard is an interesting pick, he is a smart player who would give Pachulia and Batista some tricks of the trade. Even he is no shorblocker, he brings some toughness and rebounding that could be useful. On the other hand, that guy taken by the Clips with the number 1 pick in the 1998 draft is a BUST and a waste of money and time. Why don't we trade Edwards,or is he impossible to trade because no team would never, ever want him, even if he was for free?

Sha
If I had to choose I'll go for Cato...I think he still has some good stuff in him... Pollard is too broken down and injury prone in his hay day in SAC he was super fun to watch and the kind of guy you would love to have on your team Wright has never impressed me as a player even playing center but I will admit that I haven't watched too too much Olwakandi is a lazy piece of **** he's always been on my "Id like to beat the crap of these centers for no given reason" list along with Jerome James, Mark Blount, Adonal Foyle and Erick Dampier...they suck!!! Teeareess
I picked Cato. But, is Melvin Ely still a free agent? I'd rather him than any of this list.
Premium Member Sothron Posted July 25, 2006 Premium Member Report Share Posted July 25, 2006 Bring back "Lo Down" to the ATL. Hell he still owes us for costing us two first round draft picks to get him away from the Clippers.
