Plainview1981
Quote: "At worst, he gives the Hawks a sign and trade chip for next offseason." yeah that sign and trade stuff has worked wonders for us this summer hasn't it! I agree. This sign and trade crap every year gets alittle old and doesn't seem to be bringing great results.
Moderators AHF Posted July 29, 2006 Moderators Report Share Posted July 29, 2006 Quote: Quote: diesel, you're right about the cash statement. when have you heard of a deal being held up by the amount of green being offered. I agree. Bernie made it seem like the hold up in getting this name big that we had our eyes on, was the cash from this deal. It's not exactly comforting. I read Bernie's comments to mean that: (1) We were waiting on the Indy deal to get done to get our big man; (2) we would use cash from this deal to get the big man. I did not read it to mean that we couldn't do the deal until we got the cash. The fact is that if this player has any kind of significant salary then we can't acquire him while we have Al's cap hold. flava
I agree, I don't think we are that strapped for cash that we can't pay a player's salary. This is about cap-space and the timing of the deal... flava
