Premium Member Diesel Posted August 9, 2006 Premium Member Report Share Posted August 9, 2006 Quote: The 76ers entered the off-season armed with a $4.45 million trade exception, hoping it would help them obtain a player, preferably a tough-minded veteran who could provide a spark and get the team back into playoff contention. However, as the expiration date of the trade exception arrives today, Sixers president and general manager Billy King is going to allow it to run out without using it. The team acquired the exception from the New Jersey Nets last August in exchange for Marc Jackson. Looking over Philly's roster, there's nobody I would want except Randolph or Dalembert.. and Dalembert is signed for too long and Randolph just re-signed. Plastic Man
i'd rather have hunter than lo wright; hunter is younger and better defender but has 4 years on his contract at $3mill-$3.7mill per.
Premium Member Diesel Posted August 9, 2006 Author Premium Member Report Share Posted August 9, 2006 And BK would never give up Hunter. Knight wouldn't go after Hunter because Hunter snubbed us publicly. It would be like Knight swallowing his pride to take him. King would never give up Hunter because honestly signing Hunter is one of the best moves he's made as a GM.

Guest
I am sure they could use the TPE if they wanted to. Philly is way over the luxury tax so using the TPE just wouldn't be smart. It would turn into an extra $8 million they would have to pay for someone worth $4 million.
