Wright’s and Ffriend’s suspensions are a result of fighting and each throwing a punch with 2:15 remaining in the third period of the Hawks 108-91 win over the Grizzlies at FedEx Forum in Memphis on Oct. 11. The suspensions will be served for the first regular season game that each player is available to play.-
flava
there's always an excuse for the first game. it's on a road trip. it's against a playoff team. team has not chemistry. now its a key contributor is not available. some of these are B.S. but I was really hoping to see the Hawks in full effect and ready to roll day one... flava
TheNorthCydeRises
All this means, is that Shelden will see a little more time at center. So will Solomon Jones. So will the big Greek kid, if he makes the roster. Good thing we're playing Philly that night. ZaZa, Shelden, the Greek kid and Solomon should be able to handle Dalembert. And hopefully, Smoove and Marvin can make C-Webb work on the defensive end get tons of points over him.
DJlaysitup
Agreed that it's BS teke...Lo is an important part as a vet big on the road in our first game. It'll test our young bigs right off the bat. Didn't see the replay so I don't know how serious the punch attempt was but I guess the league is setting the tone for the year. There was all of one day between the day of the game and the day the suspension was announced. These suspensionis are pretty standard. Either way, while the suspension is BS, I don't mind it. We need to have an attitude. Maybe this will remind everybody of that until the regular season, reinforce the "us against them" mentality.
