LOL . . . this board is so funny.

Good solid win for the Hawks. These are the types of games that we'd never win last year, if this team shot 42% FG and committed 17 turnovers.

Speedy Claxton has instantly made us a better defensive team because of his ability to play the passing lanes and put pressure on the ball.

Here's the thing about basketball, and specifically, turnovers. When you force a team to turn the ball over, you limit scoring chances. When you steal the ball, you create instant scoring chances with 2 on 1, 3 on 2 fast breaks.

Holding D-Howard to 11 points . . 8 rebounds . . and forcing 5 turnovers from him, was the difference in the game. That, and the fact that Jameer only had 4 points, 1 assist, and 5 turnovers of his own.

When you can take the main cogs of a team out of the offensive flow like that, you're going to give yourselves a good chance to win every night.

And look at our big people. ZaZa is doing a great job of being "the scorer" . . . while Shelden, Lorenzen, and Solomon took turns harrassing people on the defensive end and securing the boards.

And if Josh Smith is going to have an off night offensively, these are the types of all-around games I want from him.

And what can you say about JJ? I hope some of you are finally realizing the type of player that we've acquired here. This guy is silky smooth, and now he's learning how to not only be "the man", but also the type of guy who can literally take a game over.

By the way, Miami just lost to Philly. Maybe Philly is a lot better than what people thought, which makes our loss to them a little less painful to swallow.

And we're now the division leader, and #3 seed in the East . . LOL.

weird game, but it looks like the magic are gonna end up playing just a little more awfully than the Hawks. Win's a Win, but Lots to worry about- especially Shelden and Speedy.

What is your problem??? You have been criticizing the Hawks all game long! And then after they won, you sound disappointed. They are doing this without Claxton and Marvin William. If you are a Hawks fan you should be happy!

Just got back from the game.

Watching Zaza play right now is a treat. I am fine with Jojo being the cool, collected #1 option and Zaza being the emotional 2nd banana.

During halftime, you can have your text message appear on the Jumbotron.. Did anyone at the game see my Hawksquawk shout-out? smile.gif

Speed played good D.

The Joshes played much better than the stat says. Smoove is trying to take it to the basket more. Chillz is playing like his life depends on it.

Arroyo was awesome.

Magic looks like an immature team. No way they will be ahead of us at the end of the year.

Our length will give so much trouble to almost every NBA team.

Playoffs. Here we come.

This is what we were begging for last year. A team that plays defense but when we get it, nut posters are like "Orlando just played worse that us, that is why we won". No the hawks played hellatious defense all game long. Very few transition points and points in the paint. Give it up for Solomon Jones, big presence in the middle and has some offense. That was a great effort by a team trying to find its rhythm offensively and waiting for one of their main players to come back from injury.

Man, that was the best team defense a Hawks team has played in a while...we played consistent tough defense the entire game ....for the most part, whatever the Magic got in the halfcourt, it earned. That was rather impressive.

Are we leading the league in defense. If only we had Sene?!?
