Gray Mule
That was closer than it should have been - Hawks ALMOST let another one get away from them. They left 8 points at the free throw line, eight misses with 6 coming from JJ. Gotta fix this. Alan Iverson 2nd, [AKA T.J. Ford] almost by himself, picked up our opponent and carried them to victory. When he got his 6th foul, I said, "We may win this game after all." A.I. seems to always have one of his greatest games against the Hawks. Last night T.J. Ford did a darned good impression of him against the Hawks. Josh Smith played as Josh Smith last night. He didn't try to be the outside bomber, which he's not, but did some wonderful things - Grabbing rebounds - Getting assists and, oh yes. - He blocked some shots and threw down some monsters. THAT'S our J.S. T Lue came thru when it mattered. That last shot that he made was huge. Defense, for the most part, was good - EXCEPT when T.J. Ford had the ball in the 4th. - He simply blew us away. Joe Johnson didn't have to do it all late in the game. He needed help and he got it. Nice team effort. We didn't continue the attact mode late, trying too much prevent defense, holding for a last second shot, killing the clock. We're still such a young team and still learning. Speedy looked great early but was unable to finish. This is beginning to worry me. Salim S. had a very good game. He scored on the inside - A big plus for the Hawks. If Hawks can hang around the .500 mark until our wounded return, they will be making some real noise a month from now. GO HAWKS !!!!!
