Could we be a 3rd team in an AI trade?

I think that if a deal isn't made by the 15th, there might be a chance that we could be a 3rd team in any AI deal, taking on a salary dump player for a 1st round pick (hopefully in this years draft). The team has publicly said they don't have any interest in AI, but I have to think that with our ability to take on some additional salary we could really help some team out who really wants him. Or, I suppose we could get a decent player back in return instead. Thoughts?

Shouldn't we preserve our cap room to sign free agent Randolph Morris to a 3-4 year deal immediately after the NCAA tournament if not sooner (see my earlier post on the 'Hole at Center' thread)? He's our 'top 5' big without having to have a top 5 pick.

He isn't as good as a top 5 prospect. He would be a great signing for less money than 12-16M, though.

We dont need more young players/Draft Picks we need veterans who can help lead and teach our Young guys. Starting with Franchise PG and Center. Zaza is a back up im convinced of it this guy has to the worst defensive center in the league hands down.

If you have a chance to sign a much improved 6'11" hometown big at a hometown discount (perhaps), and you're among maybe 3 teams in the league with the cap room to do so, you get it done. By doing so you give yourself the option of improving your team by packaging several assets in a trade package that'll give you a chance to get the experienced pg or post player you desire. On the surface, leaving Randolph out there to be plucked by someone with more foresight can't appear very logical or smart if you're the Spirit.

He was talking about Randolph Morris not Howard dummy!!! We know Orlando is going to sign him ASAP. Morris is also a hometown product of ATL.

Unless it is Iverson himself, I don't think we take on any salary...

This summer should have shown us that no money Moves are made without Belk's OK. He won't spend money on any players unless it's Iverson.
