Gray Mule
Hawks have 5 players out, who wouldn't be a bad starting five, if all were healthy. Hawks dressed 10 players. Hawks lost by 27 points. Game wasn't even close to begin the 4th quarter. Nine players for the Hawks got extensive minutes. Even with all this, one player couldn't even get on the floor. I've heard of players being in the coaches dog house, but this must be some bad dog house that Batman has gotten into. Does anyone know what's going on? If Hawks had five of their players foul out, would he have been allowed to play, or would they have simply went with four players?? If he can't get into a game like tonights, when? Send him down to the NBDL if he not going to ever see the floor. DOG HOUSE??? Must be bad.
Popeye
Cause Woodson is astupid [censored], i can't believe that man. What a dumbfuck he is, i can't imagin how Este feels right now. They keep saying, "it's because of his not understanding english". That's the worst excuse ever. He is killing that poor young men right now. I hate Woodson, hate him!!!!!!!! Gray Mule
Pushed me over the edge, that's what it's done. I keep thinking and hoping things will work out for the Hawks and everything will eventually be all right with our coach and what he is doing or not doing. This is just too much. What he did is an insult to Batman. What else can it be? He dressed out. He was ready to play. I don't care if he can't speak a word of english (But, he can. He was in conversation with one of his team as they sat on the sideline - Camera on T.V. caught this) there was no excuse for this. What excuse could there be given? Hawks might loose the game if he goes in? Bullfeathers! The game was over, lost, finished, at the end of the third quarter - Even before that, but, just to argue, at the end of three. Because he wanted to observe other players? Hah! He's watched them all before. What does he expect to gain? Can't let Batman in - I must see - - - play. Enough, already. We completely cleaned out the Hawks roster - FLUSH! - Every former Hawk was gone. It's time to do the same thing to our coach - FLUSH - He's gone. When he can't trust his own players enough to put them on the floor, It's time for him to go. I don't blame this loss on him - He's cost us enough games - Hawks just had too many injured players that were unable to dress out. I doubt there is a coach out there who could have won this game with what we had available. But, to insult one of his own players by refusing to let him in a game that was already lost - That's just too much to swallow.
DrReality
Seems like he has become the latest Hawks player to become black listed. I'm with you. Don't understand it.

He is treating Bat-man much like Diaw. I can't begin to fathom the similarities. Their both "international" players but so is ZaZa. Both Diaw and Batman are unselfish players, according to some to a fault. Maybe that's it. Regardless, it's petty. W

I know this is a little off-topic...but this "doghouse" thing isn't a good thing for our team's reputation. Really, why would a guy like Andersen want to leave a nice situation in Europe to get involved in a situation like ours. Not that we'd pay to get him here anyway...but if we were to, and I were him, I'd say "thanks but no thanks".

We DO have some good talent, but we are plagued with injuries and then Woody is so prejudiced against international players. How could Este be any worse than what is already on the floor. Moderators macdaddy Posted December 26, 2006 Moderators Report Share Posted December 26, 2006 He's not worse. There is no way that he can't contribute as much as Lorenzen has been. Lo is a more talented player but he doesn't really score for us and his defense hasn't been that great. It is embarrasing that you would have 10 guys dressed in a blowout and one wouldn't see the floor. Its possible he's hurt I guess but I can't see any reason to keep that a secret. He's not going to be traded.
Gray Mule
If he's injured, he shouldn't be dressed out. If he not injured, which we believe, then it's an insult to him to leave him on the bench in a game like this. He doesn't have as much talent? So what! It ain't like it's going to cost the Hawks the game if he plays. It was all over by the end of the third quarter. No way, with the players available, the Hawks could possibly mount a comeback. This became more and more apparent as they played thru the 4th quarter. Don't tell me that our absent minded head coach convienently "Forgot" that Batman was there and available to play. If he can't remember something like this, he has no business ever being let out of the house without an escort. He might forget where he lives and couldn't find his way back home. I see this as a deliberate insult to Batman. Nothing else. Let's find someone who respects his players enough to let them play - - Enough of this Bullfeathers stuff. If Batman IS injured, then I'm mad because the Hawks have hidden this from us and let him dress. Shame on them. Otherwise, The insult stands! gheorghe
why don't the Hawks trade Esteban and give him the oportunity to play for another team? according to Herb Brown, he is in better shape and more athletic than last seeason. He said he wants to show he is a better player than last season, but this coach seems to be a really bad one, with a lot of absurd prejudices with foreign players

Agreed GM...I think it is deliberate. As a matter of fact there seems to be a pattern here. Delk was banned for accepting the terms of his contract (that was definite payback/petty vindictiveness)...and it hurt the team to some degree. Delk wouldn't have put us over 30 wins last year - but he would have helped a little - even if was just by giving guys like JS and Marvin more time playing alongside veteran players. Then we have the "forgot he was on the bench" episode with JS...then we have the Salim incident...now we have Este being snubbed. I definitely think it's intentional - possibly it's a symptom of a coach who can't seem to motivate his players and only knows how to use the stick (pine) to threaten players. ?? It could also be a way to quell dissention on a very young team ?? Anyway - I would not be surprised to see something blow up before long and some player(s) who has/have had enough going to the media P.S. - There could be more to the JS situation than we know also - I mean - nothing as bad as a fake injury/conspiracy - but how come Josh has been playing with a hernia and Woody still pushes him to such big minutes and keeps SW on the bench all the time with 2 fouls? Something doesn't make sense. You wear one of your most productive players out even though you know he's hurting and take a chance on making it worse? These guys came from a different time than Woody - most never got the coaching he had, so he better learn to do it. Anyone think we have already decided to tank the season so we might keep our draft choice this year? Sure looks that way so far. But I am getting tired of always having to look to the next draft for hope. And then we draft another 6'8" forward.

Wouldn't be that bad (as ours is top 3 protected) but we appear to be heading there. W

Moderators macdaddy Posted December 27, 2006 Moderators Report Share Posted December 27, 2006 I was actually totally agreeing with you. But just like Delk last year you are never going to be able to trade someone who has never gotten on the floor to show what they can do. My point is that Batman should be getting minutes and Lorenzen should be getting less. I don't like to hate on any of our players but I have been disappointed in Lorenzen. Solomon has been great but he has a hard time keeping bigger centers out of the paint. I don't think Este would have that problem.

He put a body on him and forced big Z to shoot long jumpers, he did a awesome job on him. It was actualy funny to see big Z hanging around perimeter.
