DavidSomerset
We have the 2nd worst 3 point % in the league. We need to get some guys in here that can shoot the 3 ball every now and then (thank god we traded for AJ). We also need to take MORE 3 pointers...It is so freaking frustrating watching teams like Dallas, Phx, etc. keep nailing 3's on us, and we almost never shoot them ourselves... UGH...sorry...had to vent...
Plastic Man
i know--it's frustrating watching other teams consistently knock down 3's without much effort. our perimeter D isn't the greatest. we don't have the ball movement needed to get good looks from 3. there's no flow to our offense--still alot of indecision. tonight jj only took two 3's but at least he was hot from mid-range and went to the hole. chillz shoots the 3 well but needs to be SO wide open. i'm not a huge fan of lue but this is one area we miss him--he's a legit outside threat. marv has really improved his fg% in the last couple months but hasn't been shooting any 3's. Nicholasp27
we have guys who can hit the 3, so we SHOULD be a lot higher ranked at 3s than we are jj of course lue, tho injured for long periods chill, best % in league last year if had taken enough to qualify for that stat slim, tho only gets spot mins so doesn't get into groove marvin, great shooter who will extend his effective range out to 3 in due time smoove, when he's not trying to take them too often jj/lue/chill/slim could all do well in a 3pt contest, but we don't seem to get them open enough or picking the right shots enough to have a high %...a big part of that is our lack of offensive system pick/rolls, drive/dishes, effectively taking advantage of teams double/triple-teaming jj, etc would all help our offense immensely
TheNorthCydeRises
That number is in direct correlation to Lue being hurt and Salim not being able to hit the side of the barn. People on this board just don't realize how Lue's injury has impacted this offense. Lue was definitely on pace to knock down close to 100 threes this year. With JJ commanding all of those double teams, it was Lue that was finidng himself wide open back in November. That's why Lue was scoring so much and the Hawks offense was looking so good. Then there's the Salim situation. I wish that Salim would just adjust his game, and take that open 20 footer or even get to the hole and see if he can draw a foul, instead of taking those rushed 24 footers after dribbling one time, that he always love to take. He's a hardheaded basketball player though, and that's why he's riding the pine with splinters in his butt these days. AJ isn't the guy you want jacking up a lot of threes. Lue is the guy you want shooting. Everybody keeps saying to draft a big man or a PG in this draft, and I'm not against that at all. But don't be surprised if the Hawks draft a 6-5 . . 6-6 G/F shooter to replace Salim or Ivey on the bench. Or at the very least, sign one of those guys as a cheap free agent. DJlaysitup
I think they really thought Matt Frieje would be a big help in this area...and he would have been if he didn't keep missing. I bet he lit up the gym in practice...just couldn't get them to fall during the games enough.
