Joe Johnson is a great role player on a team that wants him be a star.... SW is a joke.. Marvin talented but needs to improve on all aspects of the game... Chillz is good but not on the right team for his skill set....

I'm a noob, and your the one who thought the Hawks could make the playoffs when I said this is the worst team in basketball from beinging of the year... most of ya'll are clueless, do ya'll watch the games, there is a reason why the Hawks are the worst team in basketball, and it called talent. It the reason why the Hawks are never on national TV, it the reason why most fans come to see the other team play, it the reason why no one in local sport talk, talks about the Hawks, right now there talking about the Falcons and Braves, not the Hawks.... they even talk about the Thrashers from time to time or college sports. The Hawks suck so bad they are on the second wack sport network that gets better rating from Outback fishing. This franchise is a joke, some of you are too blind to see it. In fact believe in this mess, it your money not mines.

horrible ball handling skills

weak passer

very low basketball IQ

easily dummy and fall for pump fakes alot

good from the blind side becuase he is normally out of position.

doesn't rebound well for someone who has that size and athletism.

he a very weak Post player, on D and on O. usually a major libitites.

hasn't showed much improvement in his years in the league.

great jumper, who doesn't know when to use it on the offenive end.

he just like the Hawks team, thinks there actually good when they are not, that what makes fans and players from other team laugh at the us so much...

He strong at blocking shot where the opponent doesn't use pump fakes. and he confident in himself, for better or worst

so you think your smarter then me when come to basketball... look here Shirley, I have been scouting basketball for serveral years now, I read this site quite often becuase it involves my Hawks, it shocks me how blind most of you all are and I normally ingore you guys but threads like this make me want to log on and explain that paying more then 4 million dollars is truely unessarsary for Josh Smith. He not that inportant, if he is then the Hawks will never be anything except a whipping stick like Vancover was when they were in the NBA. This roster is actually worst then theres. I don't know any player on this team that is acually going to become something on the Hawks. I think Marvin or Chill might but I really doubt it.

Vancover roster 97'.

Abdur-rahim- was a All Star value player on the team

Harrington- Othetto was ok with this team, hurt too much.

Reeves- Big Country was good and hurt

Bibby- Bibby was nice and he was up and coming at this time of his career.

Dickerson- he sucked, reminded me of Josh Smith, his fans overrated him and it pissed me off, I had acouple of friends from BC from a bball tourney and talk to them on the phone.

Long- role player, think Kevin a couple years ago.

West- benchwarmer

Scott- three point specialist was at the end of his carrer.

Price- see Scott

Ekezie- Bastista on this squad type of player.

Parks- Cherooke was high as a kite, he was like Pollard early on in this part of his carrer.

Lopez- unno

Let's just say you aren't winning friends and influencing people with the style of your posts irrespective of their content. Also, scout or no, the idea that Josh Smith is only worth $5M/year in this NBA is laughable. Every team in the league would pay him more than that to sign him if they could.

The way RFA is now it's not that much of a risk for a team in our position. Make a reasonable offer ($9-10 mil) but otherwise let the market set the price (and be willing to pay it once you do so).

Josh is very emotional. You don't want to want him to leave. If you take him out, we would be challenging the all time losing record. He is that important to us.

When you post something like Josh Smith being worth only $5 million you expose your ignorance in a bad way. Show me one player in the NBA not on their rookie contracts averaging 15/8 and making only $5 million. and that doesn't even count the fact that he is top 5 in the league in blocks.

Right now, Smoove is better than Thomas or Miles have ever been. He will only get better. JSmoove could end up with many triple-doubles before his career is over and may get one before this season is over. If AK-47 can get a max like contract then Smoove will likely merit a max like contract. If we could resign him for 50 million over 5 years I would be elated. IMO, JSmoove is every bit the cornerstone for the future of this team as JJ.

I don't know if the rest of the league values him as much as the people on this board, so i don't worry about the market price. I don't remember what Josh Howard signed for but it would be hard to argue that Smith is more valuable than Howard.

ak47 is only averaging 8.7 a game ON A GOOD TEAM WITH A GOOD POINT GUARD. and only 5 rebounds a game. he played in 53 games as did smoove....CASE CLOSED

Starting at over $14 mil and ending at over $20 mil. He ain't leaving that much less for here. Wonder if Orlando could sign JS before that rumored deal kicked in.
