"The fourth pick has been awarded to Phoenix (as part of the Joe Johnson-Boris Diaw trade). Atlanta, although they lost 10 of their last 12 in a transparent effort to increase their lottery odds, fell victim one again to the Fates."

"Billy Knight was rumored to be on a suicide watch."

Then it ain't that bad frankly.

Imagine status quo (minus a forward or two lost for cap purposes) for 5 years and no BK suicide watch. Now THAT'S bad.

Even if the Hawks have no draft picks this year, make no trades, and sign no free agents, this offseason would still be better than the last one.

...and last year's was the most important IMO, especially given all the capital we had...a 5th pick, Al to trade, and a large amount of cap space. This year's may end up being more important should we win a top 3 pick, but only because of how BK's consistent incompetence and ineptness have cornered this rebuild. We NEED to make our own luck and fight our way out of this corner.

When is the pick's ownership decided. Is the pick awarded as Indy's end season standing(#11 worst vs # 9 worst record)? Or is the pick decided after the "Ping-Pongs" fall?

After they fall.

Worst case scenario is Indy finishes with the 11th worst record but wins the lottery thus getting Oden while at the same time pushing the Hawks out of the top 3. Hawks get no picks. With Oden Indy goes on to win 50+ games next year and the Hawks get the 27th pick in the 2008 draft.

Greg Oden cant even stay on the floor vs college teams, he isnt going to help anyone win 50 games unless a team like Phoenix or Dallas trades up for him. lol He has no offense and is a goon on d.

This should be stickied at the top of the forum for the mean spirited laughter and mockery at the person who could write something that moronic.

Part of the reason he can't stay on the floor is that he is so physical, as is Hibbert. At the next level where everyone else is big he can play more physical and not be penalized. (which happens to Shaq sometimes)

Anyone who thinks we will get more than Indy's pick is setting themselves up for dissapointment.

More hope than I have for a big in our offseason stocking using any other means.

I really hope Im wrong and we finish with the 3rd worst record and some how with that 1/4 chance we have at landing a top 2 pick comes to fruition.

But man I can't see this franchise getting lucky.

But one would think we could only have bad fate for so long right?
