Gray Mule
We've discussed, at length, obtaining a big man to play center for us and keep Zaza as his backup. My question is: Who might be available as a center who is not a potential super star, as in Howard / Gashol? I know the Hawks have Wright. He at the other end of the equasion. Are there other centers out there, younger and just haven't yet got to the point that they need to be? I think that, if the Hawks swing a deal, we would be willing to include Wright, just to make the numbers match in the deal. Is there a center that might be thrown our way in a deal, "just to make the numbers match?" I know that there are more than one "Potential" center in this year's draft. Teams taking these centers, wouldn't they have an extra one that was inexpensive? If I remember corectly, last year at this time, Walter was talking about a big man he wanted. This player didn't make much of a splash. What happened to him? Could we swap one of our "End of the bench" players for someone like that? Also, I'm hoping that, if we do make a trade or trades, somehow we pick up a second round pick or two, just to make things work out. There's this little second round P.G. that could make it worth our time. Also, there seems to be a big man or two that might be available in the second round. I know that these players aren't instant super stars, but Hawks have not done bad with their other second round picks. Just wondering - - - Help me out. Dragitoff
Actually I mentioned him before, but it was believed Orlando would match. Now they've apparently giving a new deal to Howard reportedly at 5 years $17 million per, would they match if you say offered Darko a 4 year, $8 million per deal? I think that's the minimum it would take? Money wise, we could offer them Josh Childress and Lorenzen Wright (expiring contract) for him. That would about be even I believe. I think Childress could be looked at as a replacement for Grant Hill. Just my thoughts. I'd love it because we'd still have our two picks. Draft for talent (Yi) @ 3 and Law @ 11 Speedy/Lue/Law JJ/AJ/Salim Marvin/Yi Smoove/Shelden Darko/ZaZa/Jones That's a young team with depth and matchup nightmares for alot of teams. You'd have so many lineup variations you could go with. Gray Mule
Darko os still young enough to still be a good player. He did nothing for a year or two, then FINALLY got some playing time, but still hasn't been overused. Anyone else come to mind - Surely there's more.
