Nicholasp27
Could you help me out with any of these guys as to what they measured in terms of heigh w/o shoes? Al Horford 6' 8.75" Al Jefferson 6' 8.25" Dwight Howard 6' 9" Emeka Okafor 6' 9" Chris Bosh 6' 10.25" amare 6' 8.5" oden 6' 11" shelden 6' 7.5" smoove 6' 7" so taller than jefferson who plays center 1.25" taller than shelden! only .25" shorter than howard/okafor taller than amare he can DEFINITELY play center considering he is a CENTER in college (6'10.5" noah played pf!) and has post moves

Nicholasp27
basically, shelden played well at center last season; i believe horford's best position in the nba will be center, not pf u may not want him, but i think whatever team he gets on will find center is his best position thus i am all for taking him
BusBoyIsBack
If Al Jefferson is that short can Shelden play Center? Then again I think Jefferson had a higher standing reach.

The only players on that list that have a lower standing reach than Horford are Hawks. TheNorthCydeRises
Nic . . we all know there's a lot of propaganda on this board. All they have to do is THINK. Why are teams calling the Hawks about the #3 pick? They're not calling for Conley, or Yi. They're calling for it to take Horford. Why? Because he gives a team the option to play him at either PF or C. He can definitely play C on the NBA level, because he's athletic enough and smart enough to do it. He can do it on both ends of the court. LOL . . somebody needs to go back in time, and see how tall and heavy Hakeem Olajuwon was.

SmooveTheFuture
Hmm hello Jefferson played more PF last season then Center. Kendrick Perkins was there center when he was healthy. Big differnce btween Jefferson and Shelden. Jefferson has actually dominating low post moves and blocks nearly 2 shots a game and is one of the best young rebounders in all of the NBA. Shelden does none of these things and what makes you think Horford can do these things. Horford = Shelden all over dont fall for the trap BK. Also I dont believe Dwight Howard is 6'9 w/o shoes he is alot closer to 7'0 to be measured that low maybe he grew but 6'9 w/o shoes no way. The same stuff was being said about Shelden Williams look how that turned out. The guy cant score in the post or block shots two things he was doing at the college level. He couldnt even do this playing PF yet alone trying to play center this is ridculous to assume someone can play Center. Horford projects to be a PF not an undersized Center lets not try this failed experiment again please.
Nicholasp27
lol @ people keep saying horford=shelden horford has post moves and plays center also, "Jefferson has actually dominating low post moves and blocks nearly 2 shots a game and is one of the best young rebounders in all of the NBA. Shelden does none of these things" is TOTALLY INCORRECT shelden was top rookie rebounder before getting injured, yet u say he can't rebound? and he blocked at a high rate in college; he was injured last year; we'll see what happens with a healthy year

Where is that part of his game in the NBA??? No where to be found please dont compare the college game to the NBA. Its a whole different ball game there have many college players who domainted or played well in college that are working in walmart right. Shelden injury excuse is getitng old. If the guy was seriously hurt he would have not been playing. So if he was out there playing im certain he was ok to play. Sheldens blocks were high in college they are non existent in the NBA. Last time I checked Shelden current plays for the NBA atlanta Hawks not nccas duke blue devils. College is not the NBA lets get that straight. How are you so you sure Al Horford can play center in the NBA. Have you seen him defend and play center in the NBA i sure havent. We have been down this path before with Spedhead. People were swearing up and down that Shelden could be a good center like Ben Wallace. When it was clear he cant play center in the NBA at high level. He has no low post moves and cant block shots two key things you need from your center position. This Horford can play center talk is all wishfull thinking bottom line the guy has never played center in the NBA so dont say he can esp when he is barely 6'9. SmooveTheFuture
Look on NBADRAFT.net what they say his NBA position is going to be Power Forward. NOT Center! lets not make somebody out to be something there not. If we are keeping our 3rd overall pick We need starters who can fill a need and help out right away not bench warmers. Nicholasp27
he had a SHOULDER brace on 90% of the season...u don't think that will affect his play? when healthy, he was a double-double machine leading rookies in rebounding if he's 100% healthy this year, u are gonna be eating crow
