Admin capstone21 Posted June 29, 2007 Admin Report Share Posted June 29, 2007 They want to bring Lewis back. They will be the new 6'9 crew with Lewis, Durant and Green. Throw in 6'8 Wally Z and you are overstocked at the swingman position.
Moderators AHF Posted June 29, 2007 Moderators Report Share Posted June 29, 2007 Every decent player on their team right now is a SF. If you are a Sonics fan you are going WFT??? about now.
KB21
You are going to see more and more NBA teams doing this as well. Teams have to adjust to what is being given to them, and if you look at the players who are on the horizon, you simply don't see any of the so called prototypes for the center and power forward position. The next big time center prospect that will come out? He's not a 7'0", 270 lbs player. He's the 6'9" Greg Monroe, and when he gets into the league after one year in college, he's going to be a Dwight Howard/Amare Stoudemire/Al Horford type of center in the NBA. Premium Member mrhonline Posted June 29, 2007 Premium Member Report Share Posted June 29, 2007 I think you're absolutely right, KB. I think the big, skilled seven footers days of the 80's were a bit of an anomaly.
Frenzy
well, add another one to that list, they just drafted Carl Landry,a 6'8" forward, lol
KB21
In fact, you can say the league is coming full circle. Back in the 50s, 60s, and 70s, the NBA was dominated by the 6'9" Bill Russell, the 6'7" Willis Reed, and the 6'9" Wes Unseld....players like that. Wilt Chamberlain was an anomoly during that time. ....and just as I'm typing this, Seattle just drafted a player that will probably be better than any of the 7 footers on their team. I like Carl Landry.

ncthompson11
they are young with a lot of forwards, except there forwards have a lot more talent already than ours.
KB21
What? Sorry, but their forwards aren't more talented than Atlanta's. Seattle just took another 6'9" forward/center.

ncthompson11
Big Baby is really underrated and I see him at the same skill set as shelden or solomon, and we already know about durant.
Johnnybravo4
Tne irony is that the same team that stole Ryan Gomes also stole big baby. When he avg 12/7 as a rookie people will act shocked.
iLukeisamazing
The only difference between the 2 is that their players are actually good.
