All the Woody haters seem to be hibernating. Don't worry when we lose 2 in a row they'll be coming out in full force

thats how it always win based on woodsons 4 seasons here do you blame the fans for wanting this guy out. He has been giving alot of time to get the job and it is just mild improvements in his 4th season. The bottom line is if you win fans will be happy and if you lose they want to blame someone for the losing thats how it is everywhere in sports.

I know isn't it a shame. I try to stick to one opinion and not flip-flop too much. Either you want Woody gone or you don't. Either you want Smith traded or you don't. A good game shouldn't change anything...

Not everyday at least. Whether we win or not, today...tommorrow...next week, post a poll and ask for opinions on Woody. See how the opinions differ from week to week.

I wanted Woodson fired 2 years ago. He has improved, and today it isn't so much about firing him. It is about bringing someone in here that can take this talent to the next level. Woodson has taken them as far as he can. Most will agree wit that.

He may be a good coach, he may be a defensive specialist, he may be the NBA's greatest assistant coach, he may do well with a different team - it is all irrelevant. Woodson is no longer the man for this job, regardless of what our record is at the end of the season. It is insane to think that at some point we won't be replacing him...and after watching him all of these years, it is absolutely incredible to think that someone even consider extending him.

I don't care if he's fired or when - just make the best judgement call on that and get his ass out of here.

I don't think anyone's flip flopping on Woody. I think most Hawks fans would love to see a new coach come in. The fact of the matter is that this team has enough talent to be competitive. We're winning more games than we have in Woody's entire tenure, but we still look lost and disorganized too much. We still look sloppy and undisciplined too often. Woody deserves credit for getting us close to .500, but a better coach would have had last year's team close to .500, and this year's team well over it.

Woody may very well earn an extension at the end of this season. He will have done a good job if we end up with a 7th or 8th seed in the playoffs. But this team could be a 5th or 6th seed the way it's set up right now. And in the long run I don't think he's the guy to one day get us a 3rd, 2nd or even 1st seed. I'd love for him to prove me wrong, but I just don't see it with him.

Woody's team is improving and getting closer to relevance, but does anyone here really believe he's a really good coach?

Like I've said before, I am the most vehement objector of Woody on this board. However, if he continues to win every game I'll put up with him. smirk.gif The troubling issue is that the team has pieces and we could make the playoffs. If that happens Woody will surely be retained and we will slow any growth potential this team has.

I wonder how things will shake up by next week. Interesting to see the Wizards do so well without Arena. Can they keep this up? This will be a tough week for us. A test maybe to see if we belong in the playoffs?

When I was semi-bashing Arenas before the season, I made a point to illustrate how hot and cold the guy runs. Whe he's on, he's easily a top 5 player in the league. When he's off, he killls the Wiz with his shot selection, instead of setting up other people.

And Caron Butler is PROVING that his improvemet as a player had nothing to do with Arenas. Caron is turning into a beast of a player without Arenas taking shots away from him. The Wiz are a much more consistent offensive team, and a better defensive team, without Arenas in the lineup.

If they continue to win, they might even deal the guy for another star player that could put them over the top. If I were them, I would be talking with Jersey, to see if they might entertain a swap of Arenas for Kidd. Kidd isn't going to jack up 25 shots, when he knows that he's ice cold. He might dish out 14 assists, defend, and get you 9 rebounds though.

And that's why I'd still take a struggling JJ over Arenas. With Arenas, it would be do or die, depending on how he shot the ball. He'd be entertaining to watch when he's on, but an absolute nightmare when he's off.

A cold JJ looks to get others involved. A cold Arenas tries to get himself more involved. And instead of constantly beating his man off the dribble ( something he could easily do if he really wanted to ), he'll keep settlng for those 3-pointers and shoot you right out the game.
