Premium Member Diesel Posted December 10, 2007 Premium Member Report Share Posted December 10, 2007 I think Smoove has a fear of dunking on people. Seriously. He's very tentative in traffic. SHouldn't be, but he is. I think he's afraid of hurting himself... Where's John Smoltz's Hypnotis??
AnakinJoe
Maybe it is a mental issue from the sports hernia surgery last year? Or maybe the doctor told him to find ways to protect his body and slamming ferociously several times a game is not worth the risk of injury. I think it's funny how the reality of his "non-dunking" has not caught up with his reputation yet. I bet fans who come to see him in road games are ticked off though, when he does those "baby dunks" on break-aways.
HAWKEYE
Quote: I think he's afraid of hurting himself... Where's John Smoltz's Hypnotis?? Last season there were a couple of games where he was being "seriously" undercut on dunks maybe by direction from the opposing coach or his defender not wanting to be posterized. Premium Member AtLaS Posted December 10, 2007 Premium Member Report Share Posted December 10, 2007 Smith has had at LEAST 4 sick dunks in traffic this year. I agree he was more timid early in the season, but in the past few games he's been going for the dunk.
