Admin
this may just be an early season trend in the NBA, or this may be common every year but I heard a stat the other night that something like 80% of the time when a team wins the first quarter this year they win the game. Last night during the game I was thinking about that and how we came out strong against the Magic and it really set the tone for the game. I believe that if we can come out and do that night in and night out we will have a great deal of success. Especially when you consider what JJ said a while back about our team being very emotional both ways. Coming out strong with a lot of energy seems to be the key to whether we win or lose the game so let's keep it going tonight against a very difficult opponent. AnakinJoe
I thought I heard the same thing but I thought I heard 65% of the time the team that wins the 1Q wins the game. I'm guessing for the Hawks, quarters 1 & 3 are the most important.
Admin
You might be right, it was a few days ago so I'm not sure if it was 65% or 80% but either way it's definitely a guideline that we need to adhere to.
BusBoyIsBack
It's not really the first quarter for the Hawks to be honest. It's usually a quarter after that where we lose by 10 points that ends up being our downfall either in the 2nd or 3rd. Every one of our losses it's that collapse in a quarter that we can't overcome.
