TheNorthCydeRises
There are just no easy wins for this team. Hopefully Smoove's return will put this game away. Hmmmmm . . 4th and goal for the Colts, and they're down by 4 with 2 to go
TheNorthCydeRises
hmmm . . Chargers hold and have the ball. It's JJ or nothing for us today. 5 fouls on both Smoove and Horford.
exodus
Marvin just completely sucks. JJ gets doubled so Marvin, instead of just standing still where he is open, cuts to the basket so JJ has nobody to throw to. Turnover. Marvin picks up a loose ball and, instead of just dribbling up the court, hands it to Childress who isn't expecting it. Turnover. I am going to turn into a Marvin hater if this crap keeps up. TheNorthCydeRises
Lue is going to play with the Globetrotters one day, with all the dribbling. Chargers win!
thesheedera
Quote: Marvin completely sucked in the first half. Ugly slump right now. Wouldn't be opposed to letting Childress get a few starts and see if coming off the bench for a little bit might help Marv get his groove back. exodus
10/15 from the field, 8/9 from the line. Does anyone think Childress is as good as Deng?

Admin
They are different types of players. Childress brings us many things that Deng doesn't do that are major needs for us. I believe Deng is the better overall player but because Childress isn't a great one on one player and has a funky looking shot he is undervalued by many. TheNorthCydeRises
Good win today, although it was a little shaky. The great start by JJ, along with the 1st half defense, was the difference today. Now we're going to see what this team is made of in the next 2 - 3 weeks. It'll be nice to go at least .500 over that stretch, and not lose any ground in the East.
skyhawk
Tell me - why does it matter that Deng is better than Childress? You sound my wife who's always harping on stuff that happened 5 years ago.
exodus
Because Deng clowns us consistently yet some people act like the only difference between the two is that they play on different teams.

exodus
in the second half? They had all their fast break points in the first half and it worked to give them 69 pts. Then in the second half they slow it down and can't score.
Premium Member mrhonline Posted January 13, 2008 Premium Member Report Share Posted January 13, 2008 Holding Chicago to under 40 pts. in the 2nd half makes for a great win, especially after the Hawks scored 69 in the first half.
prolific25
Defense is not our problem. Our roster is designed to be a fast break team. We are undersized, athletic, and we don't have the shooters or low post presence to run successful half court offense. If we pushed the ball in the 2nd half like we did in the 1st we would have won by even more. We left Chicago alot of chances to get back in the game by slowing down the game and committing dumb turnovers but fortunately Joe bailed us out(which he can't do all the time)and we faced a Chicago team that can't score. TheNorthCydeRises
How many turnovers did we have in that 3rd quarter alone, based off of playing too fast.? One of the major differences in that 3rd quarter, was that the vast majority of our running opportunities in the 1st half came off of steals and blocks. When Horford and Smoove picked up those quick fouls, that reduced those running opportunities. And we were actually pretty good in the half court offense in the 1st half.
