It was pretty apparent at the beginning of the game Joe was playing with a little more energy as he was trying to body up on Hinrich...and played defense with a little more fire...

but still he let Hinrich drive past him one time...

oh well...he played a great game...and he even was switched onto Joe Smith a couple of times and played him well too...so...

JJ's opportunity to sit, was in the 2nd quarter. Hawks played well at first with him out of the game, but then they began to struggle in the 1/2 court. Resting JJ is easier said than done. He pretty much has to play 40+ minutes for us to win.

When you're normally the best scorer and playmaker on your team, it's pretty much a given that you'll log heavy minutes every night.

He had 29 against Cleveland Fri nite. He's been back!

Joe was the man today. His points were also very timely...he basically but Chicago in a huge hole to start and they had to play catch up from that point on. He also responded in the 4th qtr when the Bulls made their little mini-run to cut it into 12...capped off by that steal and 3 in the corner that officially sealed the game.

He made maybe 2 jumpers that whole game.

His jumper has been off all year. He really hasn't had a game where his jumper has been hot until tonight.

Against the Cavs he got his points by taking it to the basket and getting to the line. But in order to be effective consistently he needs to hit his jumpers.
