Do people get a real enjoyment from possibly making the playoffs and still sucking as a team?

No freaking way. I'd rather watch good basketball for a season and NOT make the playoffs than watch the abomination that is "The Hawks Vs. Any team in the NBA on the road"...

It's not like we would sniff a single win against Detroit or Boston in a series

So if the Hawks had a 36 - 46 record and got the #8 seed in the playoffs and went up against Boston, you wouldn't buy a ticket to see Game 3 in Atlanta?
