Justin Williams would've blocked the deal

The other note of interest here is that I was told Williams was originally part of the Atlanta deal. The Kings would have received Salim Stoudamire (expiring contract for $783,000) in return and Williams would've been in a better setting, except for one hitch. Because he had signed a one-year deal for the minimum, he had the same right to block a trade that Devean George has. And because of the way that stipulation blocked the Dallas-New Jersey deal for Jason Kidd, there was fear of a repeat occurence in this trade. Eventually, Williams and Stoudamire were removed from the table because of it.

That makes me think Salim is on the trading block for a real reserve PG.

According to Sam Smith, Seattle is shopping Johan Petro and Mickael Gelabale. While I have little interest in Gelabale, Petro would fit nicely as a 7 footer with shot blocking potential. He's still raw, but he looked good the last time we faced them. He's under contract for next season for 1.9M which makes him one of the few 7 footers that will fit into our financial picture. Realistically to acquire him it would probably take either Salim or Solomon to make the salaries work and a future pick. He was a low 1st rounder who hasn't distinguished yet himself so maybe a 2nd rounder would do it, but they may hold out for more.

Came from a reporter from Sac news paper. He didn't say that he would block the trade but that they were concerned he might.

Speculation has been Salim for a gib, but that seems doubtful.

yeah that's what I read too.I don't know where the guy got the impression that he would have blocked it.The article didn't say that.
