hawks2007
Atlanta - New York Trade: Eddy Curry to Atlanta Zaza Pachulia, Speedy Claxton, and Salim Stoudamire to NY Why? For Atlanta, they get a big man who has his problems, but is young and hopefully can mature. Signing an experienced big man may make for a good 1 year deal, but the upside of a young, talented big man could create a dynasty if he develops. For NY, this trade may be addition by subtraction, giving Zach Randolph who is clearly better more room to operate in the post. Atlanta's Line-up: PG - Mike Bibby, Acie Law SG - Joe Johnson, Josh Childress SF - Marvin Williams, Jeremy Richardson PF - Josh Smith, Solomon Jones C - Al Horford, Eddy Curry This team is young, talented, and 2 deep at each position. Finally, if the Hawks don't use Claxton's contract this year, it essentially is a waste in cap-space talk as they will be over the limit with signing Childress and Smith. JackB1
I would do this in a heartbeat, but NY would never go for this deal. Zaza isn't worth squat and neither are Speedy or Salim. One good player for 3 garbage players doesn't = good trade.

I was just about to post the same idea with Childress and Speedy going instead of Zaza. I think you start Curry and have Horford as the 6th man. It might be hard for Horford to come off the bench considering that he is ROY potential, but in the long run it will benefit him more coming in as PF defensive specialist. Johnnybravo4
Curry is a better fit talent wise that a combo of Zaza and Childress. Plus we will probably end up spending more money on a resigned Childress and zaza than we would for the remaining Curry contract.
Premium Member AtLaS Posted February 18, 2008 Premium Member Report Share Posted February 18, 2008 This trade sucks, we would have to pay Curry for the next 4 years and he'll be making 10 million and 11 million in 2009-10 and 2010-11. It's definitely NOT worth it. If you think Zaza sucks at defense and rebounding, you haven't seen NOTHING. Curry just doesn't try, at all, he's a fat lazy bum who gets outplayed by complete scrubs every night.
Johnnybravo4
Id rather pay Curry 10 mil for 16/6 in offensive post play then to pay Childress/Zaza 12 million per for no offensive post play. But we may only have to trade Zaza, Speedy and Salim

I'd rather let Childress and Zaza go and use that money elsewhere rather than giving 10+ million per to Curry. He's not worth it at all, he's a complete black hole and doesn't help teams at all. This is based on a post someone else posted recently about DA. Also, correct me if I'm wrong, are you suggesting that we will offer Zaza a larger contract once his expires, based on how he is playing?
