Heat Trading Marion?

I dont know what they could really get from Memphis besides draft picks or Rudy Gay but this is surprising to me. I figured they would want to see a season of Wade and Marion together.

He is vastly overpaid when you consider he makes 3 million more per year than Dwayne Wade. I'm not totally surprised since it guarantees them a better draft pick this year plus if they get expirings and draft picks it helps them to build through FA and in the draft more effectively. I would love Marion, but at half of his salary.

If Im the Heat I would take Rudy Gay/expireings and picks for Marion. Its not only a good bball deal its also cheaper.

I forgot about Mike Miller. Miami would probably be better off doing Miller/Gay for Marion.

Marion will be 30 before Gay turns 22 and while Marion is better now, that likely won't be the case for long. That doesn't even take into account the astronomical difference in their salaries. MEM is in rebuilding mode, the last thing they need is a salary like Marion's.
