Is tanking worth it?

Hi, I'm new here...Just wondering------Since we don't seem to be going anywhere, why not tank the season, and try get a top pick? We can go after Roy Hibbert or Eric Gordon, Derrick Rose, or O.J. Mayo. These guys would really help our team out.

Thoughts anyone?

We don't have a pick. I still think tanking is a sound idea, because at the very least we'd probably get a new coach.

We would have a pick - if Belkin had his way - but we tossed that to PHX too. So swallow your spoonful of castor oil Hawks fans. The guys you are watching this year are the guys you will watch next year. (hopefully they'll do better next year).

Hawks can't even use that as an excuse for losing. We gave up our first round pick

when we got JJ and gave our second round pick for the "Other" Johnson, which

was traded, along with others, for Bibby.

Except for Horford, these Hawks have simply given up. They show no desire to play.

The fire is out. They are simply going thru the motions. So sad to see.

PS - Snow started here in WNC @ 8:00 A.M. with the temp @ 37. Already dropped to 35.

Even if we still had our pick it wouldn't have been top 10. If we don't make the playoffs I see the Suns getting the 12th or 13thpick in this years draft. Unlessen we were going to draft another pointguard like Ty Lawson or the kid from UCLA I don't see where it would have helped us anyway.

Here's what is crazy. Because the Hawks and Nets have played horribly for about 2 months now, EVERYBODY except the Knicks and Heat, are VERY MUCH in the hunt for that 8th spot.

Charlotte, by beating us and with Jersey losing, is only a mere 3 GAMES out of that 8th spot. All of those teams that we were comfortably ahead of . . Chicago, Indy, Charlotte, and even Milwaukee, are ALL thinking they have a shot at the playoffs now. All of those teams, including us, are within 3 games of Jersey. So none of those teams are going to tank. Even if we had a pick, we wouldn't tank.

Exactly. The only two teams that should even entertain the thoughts of tanking would be the Knicks and Heat. Everybody else is fighting to get into the playoffs.
