Admin
Watching the Mavs-Suns game one of the announcers brought up when Nash and Kidd were teammates back in Phoenix and Nash was the 3rd stringer and Kidd was the 2nd stringer and already forgotten by many was their starting PG Kevin Johnson who was as great as Nash and Kidd have been or at least close. You're talking about while Johnson was Old and Nash sucked. Let's talk about three guys in their primes. NY: Mark Jackson, Greg Anthony, John Starks. Indy: Mark Jackson, Jalen Rose, Travis Best. This one won't count but: Best passing team: PTL: Stoudamire, Anthony with.... Steve Smith, Scottie Pippen, Arvydas Sabonis.
Moderators AHF Posted April 8, 2008 Moderators Report Share Posted April 8, 2008 Quote: Cassell was also on that team... You are right. The 1996-97 Suns had: Kevin Johnson 20.1 ppg, 9.3 apg Jason Kidd 11.6 ppg, 9.0 apg, 4.8 rpg Sam Cassell 14.8 ppg, 4.5 apg and Steve Nash (young but per36 of 11.2 ppg, 7.3 apg) on the same roster. DJlaysitup
I would say Walt Frazier and Earl the Pearl. Earl played SG for the most part but he could have been a great PG. Walt was an awesome PG.
Guest
They weren't on the roster at the same time. Cassell was traded for Kidd, then Cassell got shipped from Dallas to New Jersey. Still, that is the best group of PGs on one team I can think of. The only problem is that they were all at different stages. KJ having one of his last great years, Kidd athletic but not as knowledgable, Nash way too young, and Cassell about to blossom.
