his age means nothing when he doesn't even have natural basketball ability.Worse handle out of the starters and most of the bench.

His handles are much better then Josh Smith's. His balance is what sucks.

- Try to bring in another star caliber player . . preferably Elton Brand. If that means not re-signing Smoove to get it done, so be it.

- If we can't get anothet star caliber player, re-sign both Smoove and Chill

- Start Acie at the point next year, no matter what.

- Trade Bibby at some point before the trade deadline to bring in either expiring contracts or at least 2 solid role players.

- Fire Woodson ONLY if we can get Avery Johnson, Mike Fratello, or some other experienced coach that stresses defense, but can also teach offense. Do not bring in an offense-first type guy.

- Try to find another quality big to add to the lineup.

I think you just about nailed it. I agree on all points.

Bench

------------------

THIS is where we need to build. Our bench isn't really playoff quality. Zaza & Chill are the only 2 guys that had any sort of major contribution to the 'success' of this series. Chill can't be the backup for Marvin, Joe, and Josh. A 7 man rotation can not cut it. We need to look no further than the team that beat us. They built up a bench, and they advanced. We have no bench, we lose on the road. We need bigs to come off.

We need a less fumblina big on the bench aside from Zaza, Jones is one but he doesn't seem too confident and isn't really there for offence, but he can work on dominating the defensive end and getting some blocks, basically scaring the other team and making them think twice.

Stoudamire scored 10 in 15mins with 2 threes. Everyone outside of Woodson knows Acie can handle the NBA, and is ready to play and make plays and score (this game he got blocked a few times though). We have a bench, it just isn't used for [censored]. Think of it more as an underused, underexperienced 9-man rotation with a few spares.

(Stoudamire and Richardson are more simply spot-up shooters, if Law can slash and kick out they can take open threes/long 2s)

Atlanta doesn't have to fire Mike Woodson. His contract is up, and they can choose to not resign him to a new deal. The same thing goes for Billy Knight. His contract is up.

To add, if they do decide to replace Mike Woodson, then it has to be Mike Fratello, IMO. With Larry Brown and Rick Carlisle off the table now, Mike Fratello is easily the best coach available.

Try to stay rational people. We pushed the best team in the nba to the brink. Lets not blow it up.

This is what I would do.

1. Trade Bibby. He cant stick the quick pg's which is what the nba is moving to. He is a streaky shooter that's more off then on. He isnt part of our future. Move him while he has value.

2. Fire Woodson. No excuse for getting blown out four straight road games. Losing four straight road games is one thing, but as badly as we did, he needs to go.

3. Decide what kind of team we want to be. If its a running team, then...

3a. Lets trade Bibby for a running pg.

If its a halfcourt team...

3b. Trade Marvin or Smooth for a legit center, then move Horford to power forward.

4. Do NOT give Smooth max money. He isnt nearly consistent enough with his jumper and turnovers. Giving max to a player that isnt at least an all-star is dumb.

5. If Woodson is kept, tell Woodson the only way he keeps his job is by playing and developing the bench. We cant go another season only playing 7 deep.

6. Get Law and Solomon to work their tails off. There are minutes available for them, but they both have to improve their offensive games to stay on the court. Law has to get his jumper back from college, and Solomon needs to bulk up more and get some kind of post-up game.

7. We must learn to win on the road. It killed us all season. If we had won half our games on the road (is that TOO much to ask for?) we wouldnt have been stuck playing the best team in the league for the first round.

Go Hawks.

Coach

-------------------

Since Woody might be gone, we'll need a coach that's committed to a fastbreak game, but at the same time uses defense to back it up. D'Antoni obviously won't fit the bill, because if we hire D'Antoni then our offense will improve greatly, but our D will go in the tank. And as the Celtics have proven, D will get you places in this league. But yeah, we need a coach that will preach D, but at the same time advocate the fast break. We're at our best when our defense is creating fast break opportunities, because the Hawks are too athletic for most teams to handle when they're at their best. We need a coach that will coach to our strength, which is our athleticism.

There's several reasons I would actually like D'Antoni. Let's start with the whole "His teams can't win because they don't play defense" fallacy. I might point out that they've lost in the playoffs to nobody except the San Antonio Spurs, who have been the best team in the country over the past 5 years. They win plenty. Secondly, they got screwed over last year by having Amare and Diaw suspended on that BS ruling by Stern that cost them game 5.

Our team is young and athletic. We don't have enough shooters, but I still would love to see what D'Antoni could make of Chillz and Josh Smith. We should really run a system that takes advantage of our length and our ability to get up and down the floor. Horford would be a great FC player like Amare to take advantage of beign a big guy who can move up and down the floor. D'Antoni, we have seen, also does a good job of developing his players and putting them in positions to succeed. He could really work with the talent we have on the roster.

Third, I really want to see some immediate impact. Even if the team turns out not to be quite built for NBA championships...so what? We're so far away from an NBA title right now it's laughable to consider. If we can set this team up to have the success the Suns have had, making the playoffs four straight years, would anyone actually complain? If we could post four straight 50+ win seasons, we might actually have a fanbase.

What do you mean fire him? You can't fire him if he isn't under contract.

Apparently they are bringing over Andersen who can at least make a jumper. It would definitely help to get another big and banish Zaza to the bench.

We don't need to trade Bibby for another PG,we have that PG you're describing in Acie Law.We need to trade Bibby and Marvin for another SF and maybe a bench player.
