It's definitely fake, but even if it wasn't an obvious photoshop, you have to wonder why they would put him on the cover. I'm pretty sure the average fan who's looking to buy a basketball game wouldn't even know who they were looking at.

ALOT of average fan knows who josh smith is. hes pretty popular guy for a player in his 4th season that hasnt been in an allstar game.

yes they would.The Hawks didn't even exist to most people anymore till Smith tore up the dunk contest his rookie.and he's always on highlights for his blocks and dunks

I saw Josh Smith on the NBA Live 08 cover last year in forums too. They used the same pic. With that pic, they just changed the title and voila... I don't think they will really put Josh Smith on the cover because they might not even know where he's surely headed. I think they'll put one of Kobe, Lebron, or Dwight Howard on the cover this year. I wouldn't be surprised if they put a Boston Celtic either.
