Some bullshit if i ever read some..its estimated 60% of the current price of gas is from speculation by investment banks and such....the price is basically fixed from the supply side idiot, they just determine how much of their resource they want to pump.

You are right. A better way to have said would have been....."These enormous vehicles don't help to reduce our dependency on foreign oil." The USA has over 50% of their vehicles being SUV's and mini vans.........in Europe, they are like 5%.
