Ginn will be the #1 WR for the Dolphins this year. He never had to learn how to run routes in college because he could blow past people, but he really improved on that towards the end of the season and actually started looking pretty damn good. He'll never be that big outside WR that you can throw jump balls to, but he is still going to be very dynamic and difficult to defend once he gets a little more experience. It would also help if the Dolphins had a QB that could get him the ball in stride, or even close to it.

For him to have 30+ catches as a rookie with Cleo Lemon throwing him the ball is a lot better than it looks.

I don't see how vision and breaking tackles factors into being explosive
. Ginn is every bit as agile as almost any player in the league and certainly as quick and fast.

Have you seen Ginn play? I am a die-hard Hurricanes fan and as good as Devin Hester is, he's not as physically gifted as Ginn. Had it not been for some seriously questionable calls he would have had multiple kick returns for TDs as a rookie. He still had 1 though and there are only a handful of guys that do that at the NFL level.

So, what you're telling me is that to be explosive all you have to be able to do is run fast... Using that reasoning, why isn't every track star playing football? Because, YOU NEED MORE THAN SPEED... You say Ginn is just as agile as any other player in the league? Then why didn't he score more? Have I seen Ginn play? Yes, he was great IN COLLEGE... But, like many other players, I haven't seen that transfer to the pro level... And you must have a ton of fingers on one hand, since I can name a ton who have returned punts/kickoffs for TDs... Does that one stat consider all those who have returned kickoffs/punts for TDs "explosive".... NO! Man, get a clue! You are a homer! I understand you love your team, but to label a rookie who has speed "one of the most explosive players in the league" is just plain stupid!

Yeah, you need more than speed to be a good/great football player, but not anything more than speed and strength to be explosive and Ginn has those. I have seen him run away from NFL players on numerous occasions. Just because he only scored 3 TDs as a rookie with a pathetic QB throwing him the ball doesn't take anything away from him.

How many games did you see Ginn play last year to where you can say with certainty that he went from being "great IN COLLEGE" to whatever you consider him to be now?

It has nothing to do with me being a homer. I thought Dante Hall was one of the most explosive players in the league and he wasn't a Dolphin. Even though I hated them as a Canes fan, I thought the same for Deion Sanders (FSU) and Rocket Ismail (Notre Dame) when they were pros.

Also, there were 42 kick returns for TDs last year and 6 of them were from Hester. So that leaves 36 from everyone else in the league and I'm sure many of those guys had more than 1, out of roughly 1600 players or so. I would say that qualifies as a handful of guys.

Barely in the top 30 in per attempt... So much for your "one of the most explosive players in the league" theory... I will give you maybe 2 games last year he looked like a DECENT slot receiver... But for you to even consider him as you TOP receiver next year is a PIPE DREAM... He needs to fine tune his route running before he even gets to the next level as a SLOT RECEIVER! Keep dreaming that he makes it as a "All Pro"... And I will keep dreaming that DJ starts this year!

that's not saying much.Your receiving core sucks.Michael Jenkins could start for the Dolphins lol

What's funny is that Laurent Robinson put up basically the same numbers receiving, yet how many of us Falcon fans do you hear saying that he is "one of the most explosive players in the league or All pro material"... I say you have to wait until he has a season or two of superior statistical production before putting him in that league...
