Computer Question

Recommended Posts

I know some of you on here are awesome with the computers so I figure Id ask on here 1st to see if anyone can help. I have a Dell that is not even two years old yet and have Verizon high speed net. Anyhow surfing the web has been a real pain in the ays the last few weeks because I get the dam hourglass and not responding within a few minutes of surfing. It gets stuck and I have to start all over again. I have trend micro for my security program and its telling me Im virus free but something has got to be wrong. I have run the spyware cookies and cleaned all that stuff but still get the same problems. Anyone know what I could do short of paying $ 200 to have somebody look at it?

Well, you might want to make sure that you have no malware (spyware, trojans, etc.) and/or viruses before doing too much. There's a simple procedure to do this, and it's posted in this topic in a forum that I go to.

Once you are sure that your computer is mostly clean, you might want to look into your internet. Maybe there have been more verizon wireless users in your neighborhood. I've heard that slows you down a bit. Or maybe you added another connection on your internet. You might also want to look into seeing if you have wireless telephones in your room because those have been known to disrupt the signal. If that is the case with the wireless phone, go to your internet settings and simple experiment with the channels until you have found the fastest one.
