exodus
Flip has really been killing the Hawks in the 2nd half lately.
High5
I assume you would want to immediately go to the live audio link rather than posting if someone could post a link to radio. Then waiting for someone to post the link, and then clicking the link. Seems to me that it would be simpler to just use the application that Dolfan was so nice to put up for us. Using it to view scores and quickly get to an audio link is kind of the main reason why Dolfan put it up there. Well yeah, for the future.
DrReality
We needed a game like this and it was a good one for Smoove to return to. The Griz announcers were talking about the Hawks like the team they hope their guys to play like.
Tex
Just got back from Philips...decent game. Wish we would have built on that 20+ point lead, but a fairly easy win. Great to see Josh back. He looked as sooth as ever, in sync with the team. I don't think he played more than 5 minutes at a time. ZaZa looked like his shoulder was much better. Only one high flying backdoor slam from Josh, but he looked great going to the basket. Looking forward to the Knicks on Friday to see if we can defend the 3 pointer - they average almost 30 per game from downtown!
DrReality
We shot 56% and 42 % tonight. The starters were all in double figures. But it looks like the rotation for the second team got shook up with Smoove back.
gsuteke
don't flip out if Smoove has a bad game the next one out. I believe they play on Friday. His ankle will be sore tomorrow no doubt.
DrReality
Josh Smith returns, Hawks roll By SEKOU SMITH The Atlanta Journal-Constitution Wednesday, December 03, 2008 If, and more likely when, the Hawks are jockeying for playoff position months from now, the particulars of their 105-95 victory over the hapless Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday night at Philips Arena won’t matter nearly as much. That they got complacent with a 26-point lead and allowed the Grizzlies to make it a competitive game late — they closed to within six points in the final two minutes — won’t matter. Josh Smith returned in style after missing the last 12 games with an ankle injury.BY THE NUMBERS The reason: The Hawks got what they needed, winning their sixth home game in seven tries this season to improve to 11-6 on the season. And just as they’ve fretted over games squandered early in seasons past, they’ll stack Wednesday’s game in the win column in March or April, a time when all that matters is wins and losses, not early-season style points. “I guess we kind of figured they were going to give up,” Hawks center Al Horford said. “But no team gives up. And every team in this league is capable of coming back. So we kind of had to gather ourselves. We kind of got lucky a few times and made enough stops to pull the game out.” Two guys who didn’t even play in the Hawks’ previous game opened and closed the action for the Hawks, who got a balanced scoring effort with all five starters in double-figures and with at least four assists. Josh Smith got a steal on the opening possession of the game, returning to the starting lineup after a 12-game absence (high ankle sprain). He finished with 14 points, six rebounds (which tied the team-high), five assists and two steals in 27 minutes of action. “I knew I had to do something early just to get myself established in the game,” Smith said. “I definitely wanted to start on the defensive end, and being able to come up with that steal off the tip was key.” Zaza Pachulia came in late for Smith and had two huge rebounds and a driving layup to help the Hawks put the game away, bouncing back after not playing for what Hawks coach Mike Woodson termed “matchup reasons” in the Hawks’ victory over the Wizards on Saturday night in Washington. Pachulia finished his night with six points, six rebounds and two assists in 26 minutes. “I’m ready to play every night,” Pachulia said. “I got in the game and did my best to help the team and obviously, everybody has their role, so I had to do whatever I had to do.” After watching it for the last month, Smith said it felt good to be back in the middle of the action. “We’re playing very unselfish, and it gets contagious when you do that,” he said. “We played together and we just have to keep doing that every night.” That’s the attitude Woodson insists will carry his team to the kind of season they’ve been chatting about, one that doesn’t include nail biting down the stretch. And if Wednesday’s game is any indication, the Hawks seem to thrive when the production is balanced. Joe Johnson led the way with 26 points, five rebounds and four assists while his backcourt mate Mike Bibby added 20 points and 10 assists. Horford added 15 points, five rebounds, four assists and two blocks and Marvin Williams 16 points, five assists and four rebounds. “It doesn’t matter who plays on this team,” Woodson said. “And that’s kind of how we’re trying to build. To worry about that, then we have problems. My job is to make sure that when guys do play, they’re ready to play and they do a job. If not, I have to go to the next guy and try to figure it out. “Right now, everybody is on the same page, so the minutes you do get, you have to make it the best supporting minutes that you play.” Edited December 4, 2008 by DrReality
frosgrim
From the box, it looks like the Hawks cruised in the game. That is great to see. I am also glad I was wrong about Woody playing the hurt guys too many minutes. Maybe he's learning. JJ really shot well tonight, so maybe the toe isn't as much a problem as it was being made out to be? Its too bad most of us didn't see the game so we could access how much impact Smith had. The box only tells part of the story. In all GREAT win for the Hawks.
Admin
Of course instead of going through all of those links you could just use the application Dolfan has embedded in the site. Underneath the main banner and underneath where it says something like: - Forum Index >> Atlanta Hawks Forums >> HomeCourt >> tonight's game You should see a bunch of blue boxes that have scores in them. MEM 39 ATL 50 Halftime If you look to the far right of all those boxes is a red tab that says (sideways) "LISTEN LIVE". If you click on that it should pop open a new window that allows you to select which game you would like to listen to. It is NBA Audio League Pass and its free. Clicking on Atlanta gives you the Home announcers and clicking on Memphis gives you the away announcers. Ah man you know that only about 3 people have ever noticed that scoreboard up there and even fewer the listen live link LOL. Soon I'll be adding a link to the video highlights for the game and I doubt people will notice that either :computer8:

Soon I'll be adding a link to the video highlights for the game and I doubt people will notice that either :computer8: One thing i have thought about doing, since i get tired of listening to opposing announcers, is listening to the Hawks radio broadcast while watching the game on TV. But my big screen is in the family room and there isn't a computer in there so i just haven't done it. I like watching on the big screen (which actually isn't that big though lol). One thing i have been doing pretty frequently lately is using the direct links to Hawks.com depending on what page i want to look at.
