First of all, that was in 04-05 when Lue was still extremely quick and could take his defender to the hole. It was also only for 49 games. He has suffered many injuries since then and is nowhere near the same player. Secondly, we were 13-69 that year and had nobody else to score the ball.

Bibby won't make nearly that much salary next season. And regardless, it's not questionable as to who is the better player. The Bibby trade cannot be criticized IMO because we gave up absolutely nothing of value.

While that is true, it should be noted that Lue started the 06-07 season putting up similar numbers to what Bibby is doing now. He averaged 15.7 pts shooting 47%, 41% from 3. he could certainly score off the dribble better than Bibby.

However Lue was worse on D, couldn't stay healthy and overdribbled.

Lue was definitely a worse defender. He would always get a mismatch with every guard he faced whether they were starting or not. They would post up on Lue every time they got the ball, it was pathetic.

I can't see the fair comparison here. There must be more to these stats than meets the eye. and I also believe that right now, Mike Bibby is a much better player, point guard, and offensive 'catalyst' if you will. He runs the offense better than anyone we've had in what seems to be a very long time.

Yeah, aside from the D I think ex is right about the over-dribbling. He also tended to bring the ball up a lot slower than Bibby does with his patented "Bibby skip". We still walk it too much with Bibby but with Lue it seemed like we started all of our sets with 11 seconds left on the clock.

Watch his play more closely. Bibby is very good at getting guys involved. Watch the passes he makes. He is a good playmaker.

Don't try to bring down the current PG who has played well this season so that you can justify how you feel about Acie. Bibby is the best PG on the roster right now. Good post. Bibby has been pretty good this year. Despite his last two games which were miserable (SA decent end) there is no comparison to him and Lue.

Lue's been done,Woody is the only coach dumb enough to have played him all those minutes,he's also the only coach dumb enough to play Anthony Johnson all those minutes,and he's the only coach dumb enough to not play Acie Law at all.

Bibby, while imperfect, has made many huge plays for us and big clutch shots as well

Acie is a complete bust at this moment. Acie need to quit playing scare and going to his little corner on the court. At this stage it has nothing to do with Woodson anymore. It is all on Acie. I agree totally. I can't believe anyone would even start this comparison. Bibby has been an allstar in the past and still is a very good player.
