The 3pt shot hasn't been falling this month

They shot 6-21 in 3's against Cleveland, 7-23 against Miami, 6-19 against SA and 5-26 vs. NY.

I know they've won the last 2 games. But shooting and missing so many 3's is bound to start catching up with them before long. You can't just keep shooting 5-25 in 3's every night and expect to win.

So after 4 bad shooting games out of 23 your conclusion is that this is a trend that might continue for the rest of the season? If I'm not mistaken, we are still number 2 or 3 in three point shooting percentage so I am assuming that 3 point shooting is the least of our concerns at this point in the season.

And we won 3 of the 4 games that you mentioned

That's partly because of the teams they've played. Yeah, the Heat have a winning record, but they're a one player team for the most part. Can't see them with a winning record with the way they currently play. Cleveland was a good win, but they shot poorly also and was missing a player that kills the Hawks badly.

That's why I said it can catch up with you. The 3pt shot is a low percentage shot. If the hawks keep firing and missing it will start to cost them games. JJ and Bibby are the only dependable 3pt shooters on the team. Flip isn't a good shooter, Marvin hasn't been a good 3pt shooter over a decent amount of time and we know about Josh Smith.

No. Let him starve.

I've already pointed out a number of bad 3pt shooting performances. A ton of them have been recent. It's starting to become a nightly thing for the team to shoot 7-25 in 3's. NY is a terrible defense team, but that didn't stop the Hawks from shooting 5-26 in 3's against them. I'm sure there is an excuse for that aswell. There always is.

I don't need an excuse. The numbers for the season are self explanatory. The best 3 pt shooting percentage team in the league right now is the Hornets and they are shooting only 3% better than the Hawks.

That was due to the team playing over the heads the first couple of weeks of the season. That number is going down down down as they come back to earth more. They've only had 2 or 3 good shooting nights since they played the Bucks. That was almost a month ago.

2 of those teams were Memphis and Washington. GSW gives up about 150 points so they MIGHT have a good 3pt shooting game tomorrow. MIGHT. Shooting will often not be consistent, but when you struggle for a month pretty much... Maybe they should stop shooting so many until they can start making them again.

The percentage REALLY goes down when they play against a good defense.

The Hawks shot over 50% from 3 the last time they played Boston.

It's already been said that the Hawks started out well shooting. However, that has been tailing off for about a month for the most part. With the way they've been shooting as a team for basically month, they should refrain from shooting so many 3's. They ain't going in.

So now you are saying that their shooting has cooled off from earier in the year. Hmm. I could have sworn you just said that they shot poorly against good defenses. Sounds like you can't make up your mind.

Shooting comes and goes. Sometimes guys can't miss and sometimes guys can't hit. It happens to everyone.

Wade has shot 34% from the field during the last three games. Does that make him a lousy player? No that just means he is going through a cold stretch or maybe playing through an injury.

Kobe is shooting under 30% from three so far this season.

I said they played above their heads early in the season and that's all it was. That game against Boston would fit in with the "hot start".

In that Dallas game, JJ's 5-10 in 3's saved the Hawks from a down right terrible 3pt shooting night that game.

JJ and Bibby are going to hit some 3's. But everybody else is suspect. Marvin has been a good 3pt shooter about 1 month of his career so far. Evans and Flip haven't proven to be players you can count on over the years. That's why they play for a different team basically every season.

Sure everybody will have off games. But the "off" shooting nights are starting to pile up and it's becoming a game after game after game trend. No doubt Antonie Walker would approve.

The hot nights were a trend too but i knew they wouldn't last forever. The Hawks have 3 guys (Bibby, JJ and Mo) who are proven 3 pt shooters. Marvin may or may not be. Only time will tell. But they are a long way ahead of last years team in 3 pt shooting.
