Admin
So basically the Grizzlies get cash and give up a conditional 2012 pick? Poor Shaun Livingston, it's a shame that he never panned out. WraithSentinel
Grizz must really need the money or they got too many 2nd round picks.
Moderators AHF Posted January 8, 2009 Moderators Report Share Posted January 8, 2009 Why does Miami do this? Is Livingston on a guaranteed contract that they can dump via this trade?
Guest
Why does Miami do this? Is Livingston on a guaranteed contract that they can dump via this trade? What it sounds like is that Miami spent their cash considerations to purchase a 2nd round draft pick and thats why they did the trade. They could have easily just waived Livingston and that would provide the same effect on the luxury tax. I imagine the Grizz said hey we will sell you our 2012 pick for cash. Because you cannot simply trade a draft pick for cash, they said to send them over Livingston to make the trade work under the CBA.
