easy one...Hawks winning by 10 is a no-brainier. Woody always get the guys up for the good teams.

But then again Joe usually shirks when up against primer NBA talent like Kobe.

I much more think it's the crowd and competition that get the players up than Woody and as big a fan as I am, I cannot see us winning by more than 10 points. A win would be good.

Always, huh? Didn't we lose to the Magic by like 80 not too long ago? And remember the first meeting with the Lakers last year? They were leading by over 40 at one point.

We did defeat the Lakers the second meeting last year in a great game where I would give Joe props for constantly bodying Kobe and frustrating him, although that was the first game for Kobe after his finger injury. Things won't be the same in this one, especially without Flip's energy. I expect Joe to languish lethargically, the team will follow, and wilt under the pressure of Bean's greatness.

Hawks match ok with the Lakers. i do give the Hawks a sizable advantage in coaching though.

I pick we win by 10 because I think losing by 20 is more ridiculous than thinking we could win by 10. Neither is very likely though.

Lose by 20. This team hinges on Bibby's and JJ's shooting, regardless of who else is having a good night, and all-star weekend seemed to demonstrate that JJ's shot is still off, and Bibby isn't completely right either.

There didn't seem to be anything wrong with Kobe.

Maybe it seems silly to base a prediction off of what I saw on All-star weekend, but heading in, both guys were struggling with their shots while the Lakers were among the hottest teams, with consecutive wins over Boston and Cleveland, and nothing from the weekend made me believe I can expect anything different very soon.

PS: I have mixed feelings about going without Flip the next couple of games, too. On one hand, Acie gets a chance to perform, but Flip's having something of a career year shooting the ball, so he'll be missed.

Depends entirely on which Hawk team shows up.

Some fuel for thought:

JJ, how does it feel, being the only all star with -0- points?

We hear that you were sick, but playing in the second half.

You sure didn't look like an all star. No points. Turnovers.

Flip, we hope that everything turns out O.K. We know that

family comes first - - You will be missed.

Hawks are not a great road team and changing time zones

won't help. 10:30 P.M. starting time, eastern, against one of

the top western teams.

Hawks usually play horrible when they have more than one

day off. Don't know why. Second game of back to back games

are not good either. They seem to be at their very best when

they have one night off. All star break may mean trouble.

Josh still hasn't figured out anything on his free throw shooting.

This would be a wonderful time for him to get it all together and

hit a lot of those. Even better if it's "And one" when he does.

With our version of "The Energizer Bunny," Flip, not available, will

someone else from the bench step up and provide that extra jolt

that is needed?

Momentum. LA has been hot. So have the Hawks. Shouldn't be

a big factor to start the game.

Will the Hawk's shots fall for them? Will they come out hot or cold?

Can our defense "do their thing" and keep LA from becoming a

run away train? Can the Hawks avoid the dreaded "Sleepwalk?"

This game will either be very close with the outcome in doubt until

the very end or LA will run away and hide. Hawks will not run away.

Come home from work, eat supper, kick back in that favorite recliner,

set the alarm for 10:30 and get ready for some hot action!!

GO HAWKS!!
