JackB1
Went to the game tonite and had great seats about 15 rows up around mid court. Some thoughts.... -Josh looked very clumsy out there. He is still whining about EVERY non call. He really needs to stop that. He won't get any respect until he stops playing "The Boy That Cried Wolf" over and over. He also hurt his ankle for about 3,4 minutes during the 3rd quarter and Woody was about to take him out and hanged his mind. I think that ankle is still hurting him. The crowd was really yelling at him when he was stumbling and bumbling. He still wants to handle the ball on fast breaks and when he drives to the basket, he is out of control and an offensive foul waiting to happen. It's amazing he still manages a double double as bad as he played. -We won this game because of Joe....period. Joe was outstanding tonite and had some superstar, crossover..."whoa" moments out there. -Our 3 pt. shooting was also outstanding tonite -Nice to see Acie and Solo out there. They helped bring some energy at times when we needed it. It's funny how we need an injury to FORCE Woody to use his bench. I think if Acie gets 10-15 minutes per game, he will steadily improve. Whenever we are shooting to many jump shots, he should stick Acie in there and tell him to attack the basket. -Mo doesn't seem like much of an upgrade over Chillz. Is he capable of scoring more than 10 points ever? Thank God we also got Flip. What a great get he was. -Zaza continues to bring energy and seems to now be a crowd favorite. Ever since the Garnett incident, he seems to be a different player.
DrReality
Good post. I agree about the guys that come off the bench and the energy they bring. Think that is very important. Hope they use them more. Love Solo's firey play.
Dnice
You are right about Evans he went into hibernation earlier this season when Marv was out, didn't do to much scoring wise, like last night.
crimedog
Haha, Josh played very well. If we can get that performance out of him every game of the season I'd be thrilled as all hell. Nice to see Joe light it up again. Crazy that it had been over 2 months since he last dropped 30 or had a nice night shooting the ball from deep. It was also nice to see Woody get out on the court and yell at the refs on Josh's behalf. They obviously don't love eachother but its a good sign. buckeye242424
Horf, Smoove, and Zaza better bring it tonight from a physical standpoint. Containing Boozer and Milsap is going to be difficult, especially on the boards.

coachx
The potential that is there is amazing when it presents itself. 7 pts, 2 reb, 0 blks, 1-6 on FT's one night. 22 pts, 12 reb, 4 blks, 4-6 FT the next. Josh is his own worst enemy. I guess when push comes to shove you hope he can motivate himself consistently in the playoffs b/c he sure can't right now in the regualr season. With Marvin out, the team needs him him to come with it every night now ! Maybe this is where he matures and gets more consistent or maybe its just the peak of another wave of his inconsistent play we have seen for so long. If he go from the 1.5 blk per game Josh back to 3 blk per game J-Smoove the Hawks wil be cookin' again ! Its that energy and spark we need .....with the rebounding........and that same energy focused in the paint on offense.

jerrywest
Mo is only good from the open three. Nothing more. Nothing less. Marvin's release point for 3s is very high. Mo's release point is very low which requires some space, although not as much space as Chillz, before he can throw it up. Also, Mo is not a threat for penetration which makes it easy for defenders to defend his 3 if they want to. Someone else has to create those 3s for Mo and Mo needs major space. The fact that nobody considers Mo a threat, makes it easy for Mo to get that space. Now that he has figured out that he can get some garbage points with the airball rebounds of this offensive planless team, he is on his way to become a poor man's Chillz. I anticipate a bit of a let down in the first half of this game. On paper, it is a game that we should win, at home. After the two emotional wins we had vs. the Hornets and Jazz, it wouldn't surprise me that we are flat to begin. Woody will call his TO's at mind scratching times, and the chat room will be buzzing with why we are playing so bad against a team we should beat. In the end, we'll pull out the win, albeit closer than the fans want. The schedule is brutal this month as far as teams, just glad all but two are on the road.
