Not stepping in the middle here but both sides can see this is a chicken and egg argument that is not going to be resolved.

A: The team wasn't the same.

B: They used the $$ that would have gone to Chillz on better players.

A: But adding Chillz to that mix would be better.

B: Not at the expense of perimeter shooting and defense.

A: It doesn't have to be either/or. Use the $$ that would go to Marvin to sign Chillz and Flip this offseason.

B: Marvin has better perimeter shooting and defense and is a better fit.

A: The team's record is better without Marvin than with Marvin.

B: The team hasn't played the same schedule and JJ hasn't played the same with or without Marvin.

A: Exactly - JJ is better without Marvin.

B: The whole team is better without Childress.

etc.

etc.

I think the key thing that we have done is add flip. Mr. H can cry all he wants about team being better without Chillz. The real truth is that the team IS better with Flip. Mo doesn't do nearly the job that Chillz did. In fact, if we replaced Mo with Chillz, we would be even better. Flip helps fill a need that we didn't have filled last year. That is a scorer. When you say "the whole team is better without Childress" it automatically implies that Chillz does something to make this team worse? I disagree strongly. Chillz was a guy who did a lot of the dirty work and played the role we needed him to play. His field goal % was higher than many a centers because he hung around the basket and made opportunity goals. That means if the defense fell asleep, he was right there to score on them. He was the opportunist while Marvin usually fell asleep somewhere near the third quarter start. Right now, our team suffers because we don't have the opportunist. Smoove is allergic to the inside although he's getting better and for some reason, we always play Horf high post.. as if he were a PF. If we had a Chillz working the baseline, we would be better. Especially with Flip, Joe, and Bibby there to be our bombers.

Would you guys let Bibby leave IF Speedy could play? Start Acie and Speedy can back up. Save 6 million.

I still think Bibbs is a better fit for what we need right now... But if Speedy was back and Flip was resigned... Maybe!

I don''t think they fire Woody for fear they won't be able to find a replacement. The old situation where everyone turns them down and they get embarassed.
