Bibby looked really old tonight vs. Parker; Woody needed to limit minutes

Acie was hurt. Speedy in a suit.

Woody needed to trust Mario with a few more minutes in the second half, and sit Bibby and let either Flip run the point or Joe.

Tony Parker getting 40 is just too much..that should NOT happen!

Parker was just too comfortable tonight.. Bibby get busted open, but Parker comes out without a scratch...

SOMEBODY NEEDED TO ADMINISTER A hard foul to parker... Manu did this to the Hawks a few years ago..

did you watch the game?? lol no one could stop Parker! no help D either! and Bibby probably guarded him 4 or 5 times tops! Parker ****ted on Joe Johnson. Mario West did the best on him

It's a reason he only guards his man "4 or 5 times tops", he is a cancer defensively and his teammates are all suffering because of it. How do you expect the other 4 to play sound D against their man when Bibby more times than not needs help.

It seems likes his teammates (mostly joe) have to shoulder the load because of his inability to play below average D. If he was assinged Parker, 60+ would have been the result.

Bibby is exempt from all other pg duties except making the occasional 19 foot shot and he is even struggling to do that.

It is only going to get worse considering his age and dwindling athletism. The pg prospects are only getting bigger, faster, and quicker.

they always say "Bibby wasn't on him" but do they know what was going on? If Bibby was 1/2 of a defender then Horford would not have been guarding Parker so much. That was the issue. Bibby is so bad that it's like having 4-on5 out there. I'm also seeing Woody bring Z up to stop guards from penetrating but this leave the middle wide open. Bottom line: Bibby gives the hawks no shot at beating good teams.

Yeah, I thought the Hawks would win this tonight. Damn, I was a fool. A damn fool. Just another reminder of why having any faith in these guys is not a smart thing.

Damn man, grab a prozac or get off your period already... Always with the negativity... Either be a fan or don't...

I think you guys are overreacting on Bibby's defense. Tony Parker couldn't guard Tony Parker last night without help. Bibby's strength has never been defense but our defensive scheme doesn't help out either. The fact that Joe, Flip, and our bigs were getting crushed by TP and the pnr all night is proof. If Acie or even Speedy was completely healthly, they would have looked just as bad.

The only time we really have been successful stopping this play was when we last played NO. The reason for that was, we switched less and we sagged in the middle to stop further penetration by the cp3. This is not our base defense. Our def breaks down anytime we play a team with a quick slashing type player at the 1 through 3 spots (spots were its tough to double), or we play a team w/ an effective pnr game. Its not just Bibby but Joe, mavin, mo, flip, and to some extent smoove get exposed by this scheme. Teams know that there is no clean up type big in the middle or timely help out def designed in our scheme. If you look back some of our games and focus off the ball on def, it'll be clear to you.

Parker was at his best last night. He was getting his usual layups, but he was hitting his jump shots on top of it. There are only a few players that can come close to neutralizing Parker alone. West is considered a good defender and after he picked Parker's pocket he was juked out of his shoes the next play. The switches are what hurt us the most. Horford defends guards on the perimeter as good as any big man, but he didn't have a prayer. At some point you have to just get the ball out of his hands and try your luck with those 3pt shooters.

Still, if someone other than Joe showed up to the 4th quarter we could have won.

ok but you're still not being fair..Joe Johnson couldnt guard Bibby and neither could Bibby or anyone else. You single out Bibby simply because you simply dont like him, point blank. Im not blaming anyone..its a team loss. Even if you have 1 bad defender, your TEAM defense should not allow him to get to the basket so easy without stepping up and take a charge or give a heard foul...and that's basketball 101. Collectively, Hawks need to improve on D

You are right. People are acting like we switch all the time defensivly because of Bibby's poor defense. That's horse dookie. The reason we switch all the time is because of Woody. It wouldn't matter if we had Deron Williams out there, if a pick was set at the top of the key you can bet your *ss who'sever man set that pick is who would have been guarding Parker. I admitt Bibby isn't a very good defender but our switching has nothing to do with that. You people have soo many agenda's you can't even really watch a game.

The Spurs game showed how bad Mike Woodson is as a coach. Woodson could have adjusted and told his guys to stop switching, but he didn't. Good teams know that the Hawks switch on pnrs, so they run those plays early to get Horford on their PG. Its a matchup that will continually be exploited throughout the playoffs.

What the Hawks need to do is stop being so predictable. Switch sometimes, but not all the time. Second, why not try to take advantage of what teams tink you are going to do, but don't do it. Fake the switch. Start off with Horford on the PG. Give a switch look and then go 2-3 zone.
