HawksFan87
I think I met uninspired. Joe looks like he'd rather be elsewhere. He sure does, Joe can not afford to have many off nights... He needs to start playing better or we will be out in 3 games, and we will have no one to blame but himself...
buckeye242424
Thought it was kind of funny the other way. There's nothing wrong with Joe. He's a scorer that had a rough game. Past his prime? Not even close. He's in the midst of his third straight All-Star appearance, and having a great year. If anything, he's right in the middle of his prime, he's 27. He's the stud on a playoff team. Also, I think he's enjoying Atlanta. He left Phoenix to become the go to guy on a team, he knows he can be a star. It's showing. Come on guys, it's an 82 game season, bad games will happen. There's nothing "wrong" with Joe. I'm sure he's excited about the season the Hawks are having, and he knows the team would not be near where they are without him. He's getting everything he could have dreamt of. Total freedom on the court, and a competitive team led by him.
HawkItus
The mystery continues. Joe seems uninsured these day and i think it may have something to do with Woody. I downplayed his little beef with Woody but I think the Woody stuff is staring to effect Joe's game. Merely speculation on my part but what else could it be other than fatigue? Well then I know exactly who our new coach should be:
crimedog
Actually, I think that this season is pretty consistent with all of his seasons since arriving here. PER isn't necessarilly a great stat at determining the real value of a player's contributions but it is a single number statistic aggregator that we can use to sort of show Joe's overall contributions since arriving. Outside of 07, Joe's numbers have actually been fairly constant. It seems like that year he took less of a passing load and more of a scoring one. Another thing to remember is that he only played 57 games that season. Year FG% FT% PPG RPG APG TS% AST TO USG REB PER 2005-06 .453 .791 19.8 4.0 6.4 53.7 22.9 11.4 23.8 6.0 17.95 2006-07 .471 .748 24.2 4.1 4.2 55.8 14.6 10.3 26.6 6.1 19.56 2007-08 .432 .834 21.3 4.4 5.7 53.5 20.1 9.4 24.8 6.4 17.67 2008-09 .436 .824 21.5 4.4 5.9 53.2 20.7 8.9 25.3 6.4 18.17 This might just be who Joe Johnson is and how he best functions.
