mattlanta
Boozer Leaning Towards Opting Out May 21, 2009 11:23 AM EST Carlos Boozer's decision to opt out might not come until June 30th, the deadline to officially do so, but all indications are that he will test free agency. Boozer would be opting out of $12.7 million he is set to make in 2009-10, but is said to want the security of a long-term deal. He also is believed to have received assurances from Jazz CEO Greg Miller that the team wants him back in Utah. Via Salt Lake Tribune
Moderators AHF Posted May 21, 2009 Moderators Report Share Posted May 21, 2009 I saw that Boozer told Utah they could just get rid of Paul Millsap and that Boozes promised to resign with Utah after he opted out if they did that saying, "Come on guys...you know my word is gold. Trust me on this. Get rid of Millsap and your negotiating leverage and I promise I'll come back at a bargain price. Really. Just don't call those guys in Cleveland when you get rid of 'Sap.' You can't trust those Cavs." I fully expect Boozer to be elsewhere after this offseason and Millsap to remain with the team. That is what I would do.
