Admin
Vick signs with the Philadelphia Eagles as McNabb's backup!!! Seems like a good deal for both sides assuming that this is McNabb's last year with the team. Vick is younger so theoretically he should have 5 or so more good years left. TheNorthCydeRises
Vick will be the 3rd string QB ( emergency QB ) . . . if he's even a QB. The 2nd string guy, Kevin Kolb(sp) is actually decent. If I were the Eagles, I'm using Vick as an "offensive specialist", in the mold of how the Steelers used Antoine Randle-El and Kordell Stewart. I'm running screen passes ( both RB and WR screens ), reverses, HB pass plays, the WILDCAT, deep fly patters, etc. I'd make it a point to get him at least 5 touches a game, to see if he can make a gamebreaking play. OH . . and guess who the FALCONS are playing on Dec. 6th IN THE GEORGIA DOME! Yep.

If Mike Vick can play at anywhere near the level he played at before his incarceration, he'll be the backup/option QB in no time. You can't keep that kind of talent off the field. Moderators lethalweapon3 Posted August 14, 2009 Moderators Report Share Posted August 14, 2009 WHO LET THE DAWGS OUT *woof* *woof* *woof* *woof* *woof*... Good low-risk concept for both Philly and Mike. At Lincoln Financial, the PETA plants can dare to distract Eagles fans from football at their peril. Vick can step in at QB only if McNabb gets injured or totally collapses... or can learn the ropes at WR or Special Teams. Can spend all season holding a clipboard and reading the playbook in the worst case. ~lw3

Sad to say but Vick is done as a leading qb. He can run the wildcat but you cannot depend on him as a starting qb. He is a punk who deserves a second chance but will still be a punk. Hawk88 If it wasn't for Philly, Mike would have led the Falcons to a Super Bowl. If you can't beat 'em, join 'em! As for him being done as a starting QB, unless he gets hurt, he will get his chance in due time. Might happen in Philly.

Mike Vick lead the team to the NFC championship game despite having a talentless offense. You saw what the team looked like without Vick. If he can return to form, he can guarantee you about 6-8 wins by himself. If you couple him with some offensive talent and a solid defense, he'll be damn good. That's if he can return to being the Vick of old. Who knows, he might come back a better QB overall.

Philly wouldn't have signed him if they didn't think this was very possible. They can always cut him, but with the distraction factor where it is they have to believe he could be their starter for the 2010 season.
dms269
I can just see PETA people going up to Pat's or Geno's and asking for a vegan cheesesteak then protesting those places.

Gray Mule
MV is a super great runner - very exciting - he makes things happen. MV is not even a good QB. Without his ability to run, he would be a second rate player, at best. But, oh that running talent!! On a side note, it was noted on a web site from Philadelphia that they would change the team's name, putting a B in front of Eagles! :snowballfight:

Oh and the disappointment known as Peerless price. He's a better passer than he's given credit for.
