exodus
Too many dumb turnovers in that first quarter. It isn't like Sactown is known for their defense.
exodus
No D and careless turnovers. Ugh
High5
Sloppy, sloppy, sloppy. But it is nice being able to win the second game of a back-to-back, on the road, and on the other side of the country playing this way. Even if it was the Kings. Can't stress enough how huge it is to have Crawford coming off the bench. I was hoping this would be a game for the rest of the 2nd unit to get a lot of burn, though. Maybe we can make it up in Charlotte.
FrankWhite
It wasn't the most impressive win, and yeah, WAAAAAY too many turnovers, but when's the last time this team won back-to-back games on the west coast? That's a very good thing.
exodus
The Hawks made some horrible turnovers on outlet passes that quickly led to 3 pointers for the Kings. Horford started the game with one and Mo got one in the second half. ugly JJ was really forcing it and had 6 turnovers. Wow What is up with JJ's rebounding lately? That has never been a strong point for him. maybe it is just a small sample size fluke.
FrankWhite
Yeah, way too often they choose to throw a hail mary down the court and it sure seems more often than not it gets picked off or goes out of bounds.
DJlaysitup
I was impressed by Crawford (figured he would fade into the background after last night's big game). Woody played a lot of guys in the first half to keep the team fresh...and it worked! Nobody played great but most played pretty good. Smmove was dominating in the paint early and then the phantom fouls got him. Horford is a real butt-saver in games like this. We got a win on the backside of a back2back on the West Coast (albeit against a fairly poor team). I'm not complaining at all. Anybody see JJ's post game interview on TV? The poor guy was exhausted....he could hardly talk.
ATLNY7
Hawks start off season 4-1, not bad. They won the games they were supposed to win.
TheTruth
Good win. Gotta stop waiting til the 4th quarter to play defense, though. All in all, not a bad game. We won back-to-back road games...that is definitely a plus.
drzachary
Play of the game had to be Marvin's block (on Kevin Martin?) on that 2-on-1 Kings fast break.
DJlaysitup
Play of the game had to be Marvin's block (on Kevin Martin?) on that 2-on-1 Kings fast break. It was simply awesome. Marvin swatted that ball like it was a badminton shuttlecock. Let's not forget however, Joe Johnson actually dunked the ball in this game too! TheNorthCydeRises
What is up with JJ's rebounding lately? That has never been a strong point for him. maybe it is just a small sample size fluke. When he's playing SF with Crawford and Bibby in the backcourt, he's really making it a point to get in position to get defensive rebounds. It helps that he actually blocks people out. JJ is really grinding this year on offense and defense.
DrReality
Hawks start off season 4-1, not bad. They won the games they were supposed to win. Good point. We've been notorious for not getting these wins. Good to see. And I agree that JJ is forcing the offense and that shuts everybody else down. Wonder if he is determined to get his points to stay up with Craw?
ATLSmith
Hawks start off season 4-1, not bad. They won the games they were supposed to win. Yea, just waiting for Miami to loose another game. Hopefully the Nuggets take care of business on Friday against Miami and then are tired coming into Phillips on Saturday so the Hawks can jump a game ahead (not that the Hawks need the Nuggets to be tired to win a game mind you). Miami hasn't played any truly great teams yet so the Friday game should be interesting. Would be nice if Detroit can get another win against the Magic on Friday but its not likely that they loose two games to Detroit in the same week... and Orlando is playing at home. coachx
It was simply awesome. Marvin swatted that ball like it was a badminton shuttlecock. Let's not forget however, Joe Johnson actually dunked the ball in this game too! That was his 3rd dunk and 2nd two handed dunk of the season (5 games). He had about that many all of last season. JJ seems to be about 10 pounds lighter this year and really seems to have made him a lighter on his feet.

Many of us thought he needed to lose weight, particularly if he was going to stay at SG. I think it will really help him as the season goes along.
