ORL-ATL game is why Sund didn't extend Woodson...

Orlando wiped away the disappointment of a one-point home loss to Miami on Wednesday night with its sixth win in seven games.

"I said to them at halftime, 'The question is, does anybody want to play?'" Van Gundy said. "I think we were pouting. We were tired. It's easy to make an excuse, but at the end of the day they're going to give you a W or an L. Nobody cares how long they've been rested or anything else. Nobody cares."

Sounds like a coaching issue to me. Which coach went to the half and changed things up ? What was the result and what did the other coach (Woody) do when SVG took over ? :cant believe:

It's definitely a coaching issue. Woody doesn't trust rookies and rookies don't trust Woody. However, if Woody can't develop rookies this year (i.e. Teague) and get younger draft choices such as Horford and Marvin to act more like franchise players especially against Cleveland, Lakers, Orlando, San Antonio and Boston then Woody is GONE.

Big Al and Marv are Woody's players--even though they are offensively challenged for different reasons--they have had plenty of time to develop their skills as NBA players.

This is Woody's last year of making excuses about youth, experience and chemistry. A new voice is needed for this relatively young Hawks team.

People can ask where our offense went in the second half? It went nowhere. It was the same offense as it was in the first. The difference? Guys were making the extra pass themselves, being unselfish, and looking out for one another in the first half. We were making shots because they were wide open. The second half, it didn't happen...we saw our lead start to shrink, started jacking up shots after panicking, and became selfish = 11 second half FG's. Nothing more than one on one. But it was nothing different from anything we've done all year.

Against Championship level teams, like Orlando is and was last year, we'll continue to be exposed as the hacks we are on the offensive end. It's the bottom line. Having more talent offensively can only take you so far, and when you meet up with a team that matches your talent like last night, we will lose, and it won't change.

We drove the ball in the 1st half also. In the 2nd half Orlando reduced us to semi open jumpers. They adjusted to us; we did not adjust to them.
