exodus
Where are Balkman and Joey Graham? They started the last time we played Denver. JR Smith didn't play last game and neither did Kmart. Of course when i pointed that out i got slammed on here. Now those two are lighting up the Hawks. Of course a certain poster who said that Denver didn't miss JR won't have much to say tonight.
TheTruth
What a sad, sad game. I guess Teague is being punished again for being a rookie with hardly any PT again. Now is not the time to start a trend where we alternate wins and losses.

gsuteke
Defensive breakdowns. And they (Denver) looked like the normal Hawks on the boards. Someone will find a way to spin this into Marvin's fault. Edited December 24, 2009 by gsuteke
Plainview1981
Lol, JR and Kenyon are the sole reason the Hawks lost tonight. Denver is just a far better team when both teams are playing well. The Hawks didn't play terrible tonight like Denver played terrible in Atlanta. Denver is just a far better team. We all knew that their offense isn't what lost the game. The Nuggets typically shoot 46% from the field. Tonight they shot 55%. Stop hating on the Hawks. Denver was a far better team last year and these teams have basically the same players. Denver has the better player.... They have the better 6th man, they have tougher Big Men, they have a better PG and they're better coached. They laid this whipping on the Hawks without their 2nd best player. JackB1
tough loss tonite. Denver played so well and JR Smith was out of his mind. I think Denver would have beat the Lakers tonite. Josh seemed disinterested all night and Mo played terrible. Joe dribbled too much and Bibby missed too many 3's. Horf had a solid night and so did Craw. He ain't even averaging double figures anymore.

Plainview1981
Once again the 'antifan' is wrong. dumb You don't have to like it, but Denver is the better team. They've got further in the playoffs, Billups is way better than Bibby, Martin and Nene are way tougher than Josh and AL, and Mello is way better than Joe... And Denver just creamed them despite not having their 2nd best player out there. The hawks shot decent, had 5 guys in double figures and still got destroyed. Denver is just better. If you got some evidence to point in the other direction please do share. Edited December 24, 2009 by Hotlanta1981

Oh please Chauncey is shooting under 40% They are a very good home team but you are just a little bit too happy and are hyping them up bigtime . JR doesnt play anywhere near as well on the road and Melo doesnt get the same amount of calls neither . Again great home team but not the so much better team period that you are claiming . Theyve now lost 4 straight road games including the previous two games prior to tonight so this was an awfully big home game for them after losing to the Grizzlies

In the end, they will have a better record. This Hawk team just lacks the toughness to get it done on the road. This team hasn't do a lot of note on the road outside of that one game against Boston. This Hawk team has yet to prove they can go out on the road and win against good teams with consistency. What ticks me off is this team always seems to have embarrassing L's when friends and family are over.
High5
If we got JR Smith on a bad night or maybe even an average night we could have won. That's just the way basketball goes.

Premium Member Diesel Posted December 24, 2009 Premium Member Report Share Posted December 24, 2009 Wow, we lose to an elite team, on the road, on the second night of a back to back.. and you're here to gloat? Good deal Ex. We can always count on you to look past the best start in franchise history and see that one loss!

Gray Mule
So, Atlanta Hawks lostt a game @ Denver last night. What did you expect? Denver was @ home. Hawks were on the second game of a back to back. Like Atlanta, they are a much better home team. Then, J.R. Smith "goes off." From behind the arch, he hits 10 of 17 shots. And, you can forget those last three when he was simply trying to establish a new Denver record. That means, when it really mattered, when it was making the difference in whether the Nuggets won or lost, he hit 10 of 14 from the three point line. Most NBA players would have trouble hitting @ that rate. Think of those best shooters who compete @ the all star game. How many of them hit 10 of 14? And, this is with no one guarding them. Part of J.R. Smith's shots at least, were closely guarded. And, lest we forget, Denver is called "Mile high Denver" because it is. There is a difference in your breathing at this altitude. Air is thinner and you must take in more to get the same results. Theitr players are accustomed to this and the Hawks are not. Doesn't make a lot of difference, but every little thing counts. Our players end up being more winded late in the game. Just wanted to throw this in so you would have something else to think about. :write a letter:

Denver was playing on the road, on the second night of a back to back to back, when we played them last time. Funny how you didn't seem to care. So do you still think that Denver didn't miss JR when we played them last time? LOL The Hawks have been getting outrebounded lately and that is a major concern. To me the big difference between this years team and last years team is the rebounding but that has been suffering lately and it is going to hurt them if they don't start putting the effort in again. Let's not forget the Hawks have been one of the most injury free teams in the NBA. Of course you have never understood that the Hawks aren't playing against jerseys, they are playing against players. It actually does matter who is wearing the jerseys. They didn't even have Billups and still blew us out.
