Best quote from realgm (Boston site)

Atlanta has Michael Jordan coming off their bench!

...it's kind of hard for your bench to compete with a team that has **** Crawford making half court shots..got dammit. icon_confused.gif

To be 6'5" Crawford's ability to break smaller guys ankles is sick man...

Yeah Buzz - obviously they have faced Craw before..but not like this....not with this level of talent/athleticism behind him.

Honestly - and knowing we could use another PG - would you trade Craw for Rondo (a borderline allstar) - I wouldn't.stirthepot.gif

LOL thats a great quote but it really is weird reading the various sites at just how shocked people are at Crawfords success . Hes been putting in work for almost 10 years has scored 20 ppg for an entire season and 50 pts for 3 different teams and when he torches there team they act as though this guy came out of nowhere .

There is a great video on the Hawks website with Ahmad Rashad interviewing Crawford and he opens with a quote from Chauncey Billups . It seems the players respect jamals game but the fans seem to always overlook him but its getting very hard to do that now .

Yeah...it's pretty obvious that Craw is the most talented player on the floor every night. Offensively that is.

Hate to quote my own post...but to be fair - JJ has done the "long shot" multiple times too.....swoosh.

It was easy to overlook Jamal's game, because he was a highly inefficient shooter. He was a career 40% FG shooter before he came here, which is horrible. The ultimate "streak shooter" in this league. Even last here when he scored 50 in Charlotte, he scored 6 points the previous night against the Hawks. Jamal is normally streaky as hell.

This year, he's a much more consistent player, partially because he's playing alongside another guy that the opposing team fears. He doesn't have to do all the scoring, like with past teams. He merely has to do his job as the primary option when playing with the 2nd team, and as the #2 or sometimes the #1b scorer alongside JJ.

The difference this year, is that Jamal is reaching his ppg average by scoring 17, 22, 25, and 16 points . . . instead of reaching his ppg aveage by scoring 27, 11, 34 and 8 points. It's a similar ppg average, but his consistency in reaching his average just about every game, is the major difference.

Jamal has hands down been the difference this year. One thing I didn't expect him to be was consistent but he has been probably our most consistent player along with Horford this year.

He has made me his number 1 fan, and Sund is not getting enough credit for getting this guy for Speedy Claxton and Acie Law. Seriously, I mean, what would Boston have to offer for us to trade Jamal to them... Paul Pierce???

Think about that for second.

the same was said about Flip before last season. He had been an inefficient chucker his whole career. He had his best year ever with the Hawks. bibby also had a resurgence once comming to the Hawks. The common denominator is JJ.

And what about Al and Josh? They're both very good team players and great teammates. Woodson is also very good when it comes to building chemistry.

Crawford is playing the same way he has always played . The difference is there are no distractions and the players around him are also playing at a high level . I dont think he has ever played for a team that didnt have front office turmoil and whose best players had problems with the coach.

last year for NY Crawford and zach randolph was were playing great and NY was above .500 for the first time in years . They traded them both and Randolph is an all star and Crawford was in consideration.

During that time Crawford was shooting 43% field 45% 3 averaging 19 ppg 4 apg on 15 fga per game . LOL I dont think hes ever been on a team who at this point in the season hadnt fallen apart due to off the court issues .

The Hawks offense doesn't run through Al and Josh. they aren't the ones drawing double teams. Granted they are unselfish and willing to pass to open shooters but they aren't the focus of our offense or the other teams defense. JJ is.
