My impresssion after this game is that whatever happens in this series is up to the Hawks. The reputation for blowing hot and cold during a game was reinforced today. The lack of focus was notable. As I said in the game thread, it is like the Hawks are an all-star team that just met. Once an adjustment is made by the opponent, the Hawks seemingly get sloppy and very one-on-one oriented.

Cant disagree with any of this. People used to excuse it away due to them being a young team/inexperienced/lack of PG. Can't say that now.

It's very hard to sit around and say that we are worse off based on our play. We still scored 62 in 1 half on this team. We still shot over 60% in one half. I think when you have blown a team out like that, you get sloppy. The same thing happened in the Cleveland game. They let Chicago back in. Does that mean, Chicago will come back and take the series? Probably not. But we're accustomed to thinking the worse possible scenerio when it comes to the Hawks.

Here's the deal. Game 3 will be crucial.

IF Josh Smith is still playing with Delfino guarding him... then we should win.

Y don't u just go far away hot clearly u r never satisfied. Yes is it frustrating and dissapointing that the hawks let the lead slip away and hopefully they will play focused for 48 min on tuesday. However u r never satisfied if they loose u moan if they win u moan so y not just go and support a NBA team u like and stop wastin our time and yours postin straight venom and hate. I knw b4 u say it everybody does have a right to their opinon about the hawks and yes the hawks can be critisized. I dont like everything they do but u knw what no team in the NBA is PERFECT case in point Cavs let Chicago come back after bein up by 20pts plus but does any1 say anything no becuz its Lebron. As special as Lebron is he is n the same boat as we r u see he hasnt won the big trophy yet either. I'm done I'm through with my rant bcuz its not worth it u will continue to hate on this team no matter if they win by 30 or lose by 1 u will never be satisfied. What don't you accept that someone has a different take than you? If this team had commitment this series could be a sweep. And I was very happy with the first half... It's too bad they came out and did the same old same old.

The overall game seemed regular season like. Bibby had the best game of the season, they needed it because his typical game versus Jennings super game would of been enough to offset the lead entirely.

Jamal almost shot the lead away in the second half, he is going to need to be way more efficient in the future to maximize the offense.

They need to establish Smoove throughout the whole game and not just the 1st quarter.

It is amazing how Crawford gets fouled so much on jumpers. He says it is because he shoots quickly when guys aren't expecting it and they react late and foul him. I guess that is why he is the all time NBA leader in 4 point plays.

Why after picking Jennings' pocket,, Joe was rewarded by Woody with a seat on the bench was beyond me.

Why, with Jennings still lighting it up, Scotty 'rested' him for something like 3-4 minutes in the final quarter was beyond me, too.

Well it was time for Joes rest and he only sat out a minute or two not even his regular full time

As for Jennings well between Crawford and Joe he was gonna foul out as he started turning over the rock ,not getting back on defense and picking up fouls at a pretty fast clip oh and he wasnt really running the offense.

After picking Jennings, which was really cool, you could see that Joe was really tired. After he picked him for the second time in a row, he threw the ball away in a turnover, probably because he was tired as hell.

Talk about haters....Paul Newberry's AP article slammed us in every way possible. You would think we lost <grin>.

Which begs the question... who the @#$%^&!* is Paul Newberry?? Did Jon "You're No Brent" Barry take up a pen name?

Speaking of which, of all the ESPN color comment-haters to cover this game. What, was Doris Burke not available? The only "color" Jon uses on the Hawks is "brown," always finding a reason to toss crap. Hawks fans should be advised next time: if they don't come to the arena, they'll find themselves watching from home with the mute button on.
