shocker_90
Does not make much sense to me????? If we are branching the search to guys with no coaching experience why not look into guys like Patrick Ewing?
Endy9
Why the hell would we even consider (and give a second interview) to someone with ZERO coaching experience? Hire him as an asst. if the new coach wants him.
JJFAN4LF
Simple. He'll probably come cheap and he'll be a low risk, possible high reward coach for us. With his reputation as a tough-nosed player and leader, maybe he could bring some toughness into this team that we lack.
HawksFan87
seriously I'm tired of all these 2nd interviews, If u didn't get it the first time. The 2nd time will be no better.. Or maybe they are waiting til all the good coaches are gone. So they can be stuck with someone who sucks

HawksFan87
, hiring an employee for a job, and hiring a coach to be responsible for 12 men can not be compared..
gsuteke
, hiring an employee for a job, and hiring a coach to be responsible for 12 men can not be compared.. Interesting take. An NBA payroll likely exceeds the total op volume of 95% + of american small businesses.

islandman70
I would rather Mark Jackson over Avery Johnson; also if Joe Johnson wants to leave do a sign and trade and then go after Ray Allen.
DrReality
I wouldn't mind haaving Jackson as an assistant to help develop Teague. But not the main guy.
SuperSavvyNation
lol...jsmoovefan sounds like a teenager with no idea how people get hired in todays world. Kudos to you GSUTEKE for not having fun at his expense. The second interview is part of the process. Its not that they didn't get the job the first time around. Lots of jobs will have a second round of interviews for top choices. It's not like the job is at McD's where one five minute interview will do. With so much at stake, it's quite the norm.
Premium Member Sothron Posted June 7, 2010 Premium Member Report Share Posted June 7, 2010 The cynical part of me wonders if these interviews are less about the coaching and more about the money at this point.
Crank
Id rather have thunder Dan Marjele than Mark jackson if we are gonna go for someone with no head coaching experience .
Dexmethylphenidate
Id rather have thunder Dan Marjele than Mark jackson if we are gonna go for someone with no head coaching experience . Mark Jackson has no coaching experience at any level at all if I'm not mistaken. He may want to get an assistant job first.

TheNorthCydeRises
I guess Jon Barry turned us down, so they went to Jackson to see if he wanted an interview
Premium Member Diesel Posted June 8, 2010 Premium Member Report Share Posted June 8, 2010 The cynical part of me wonders if these interviews are less about the coaching and more about the money at this point. Jokingly, I believe we are interviewing Mark Jackson so that he would stop saying such crappy things about our franchise. If he loses out to an experienced guy, I think he would be more understanding. Or maybe we want to personally dump on him and make him feel just as bad as he makes our fanbase feel with his commentary. If Gearon is calling him a sorry, no ring having loser... that doesn't know a pick and roll if it bit him on the *ss, then maybe I'd be more appreciative of this interview, but I really don't like Jackson.
