Atlanta Hawks: Players say Larry Drew isn’t Mike Woodson 2

The interesting thing is the creativity the players say he showed when calling the offense for the second string guys in practice. Larry coached for a while with Del Harris in Los Angeles, so I wonder how much influence Del's style has on Larry's.

Also of note, those that said Mike Woodson had no system appear to be correct. According to Cunningham in this article, Mike gave the players the freedom to do what they wanted offensively. I do remember when Mike once stated that he coaches defense and the offense will take care of itself, or something to that nature. Could it be that the offense became iso heavy because of selfishness on the players' part?

If that is the case, then Atlanta must make sure Joe Johnson is on board with more of a team oriented offense before they attempt to resign him, because if he is going to continue to isolate himself, then Atlanta needs to move on and get what they can for him. It would cost us a very good player who can effect the game on both ends of the floor, but to fit in now, he has to become more confident in his teammates.
